Love the inclusion of various types of mother figures like Davidtz in Matilda or Hunter in Raising Arizona (lol). That Terms of Endearment moment actually hits even harder in the context of this than it does its own movie.  Speaking of, I like how the otherwise unconventional choices for something like this blend in, like The Shining, and that shot from Panic Room looks right out of Stepmom when out of context.  Those animated ones hit especially hard, given the double nostalgia of the clips/movies themselves as well as associating them with our childhoods when we felt most protected by our mothers. And that combo of Little Women scenes is perfect. Beautifully done, as always. |
