Your Acting Wins of the 30's?

Guess I don't venture too often into the Awards/Line-ups part of this forum so super late to seeing this. I like that I'm not alone in placing Lorre Supporting for M. I mean, he's maybe the most lead of anyone, but he also has barely a third of the screen time of the film (probably). Also guess I need to see Island of Lost Souls as '32 is maybe my strong year that decade for Supp. Actor and if Laughton's good enough to beat out all the Grand Hotel guys (especially Lionel Barrymore), he's gotta be pretty damn special in it! Great list all around though.

Of course! I agree, he just makes more sense in Supporting. Feels more like an ensemble piece to me anyway.

Laughton really had a fantastic run in the '30s so I don't blame you for giving him so many wins. I only give him the one win for Mutiny on the Bounty, but he makes my top 5 for The Private Life of Henry VIII too and still need to see the other three you gave him the for. Will definitely check out Island of Lost Souls at some point! Likely for one of my October horror marathons.

Bondi is truly fantastic in that film (as is Victor Moore). The film is beautiful, but I feel it only works due to the fantastic work from both Bondi and Moore.
