CHiPS actually had Thursday previews. It made $500k according to Box Office Mojo.
Anyway, good preview number for Rangers. Increased my prediction to $45 million.

Damn, so Get Out will make more than Chips? That's pathetic. Ha ha. Chips will finish with less than $25mil, that's a HUGE bomb.

That's more than Power Rangers deserves. Also knew Chips was gonna bomb, just didn't think it would be that bad. Not sure why WB moved it from the summer spot it had and just dumped it under a bunch of other hit movies.

Comicconman is right-- Power Rangers opened really low overseas with under 20m
Even though it still more markets like Japan to open in, thats not very encouraging with the 100m budget
It has A cinemascore, but I think this is a frontloaded movie and legs will be bad with Boss Baby and Ghost in the shell opening next weekend

I am not suprised Chips died did anyone feel like that was going to be successful. With the giant success that was 21 and 22 jump street, I imagine why they green-lighted it (a bit after 22 release), it could have work, execution issue (and also I love Peña a lot, but him has a bad cop, we did got it twice this year and how many time before)

Efron has arguably the biggest box office clout for a under 30 actor, at least in a movie like that, Dwayne Johnson will sell it like crazy, has he always do.
That said, movie like that can get in a positive loop or a negative loop, combined with the fact that I have no ability and predicting box office at all, it is hard for me to say, I will say central intelligence BO domestic + good oversea numbers, if everything goes well.
