63 today........an all-time GOAT level actor.......in the top 10 for English speaking film actors ever imo at least and maybe higher than that ....many would stake that claim.

For me, it's undeniable. He is the greatest there has ever been. Not only that, but he heeded the words of the Gambler and knew when to fold 'em. Nothing beats a great swan song, and he's (so far) got one of the best any actor could ask for.

Happy bday to both of them. Two of my all time favs. DDL is nothing less of a legend and Pfeiffer is one of the best actresses of her era.

Btw, am I the only one who believes the best performance of DDL's legendary career was in In the Name of the Father??
Yeah, probably...

I honestly think this is the first year I realized that Nicholson, Pacino, and Day-Lewis have birthdays within a week of each other ... astrologists must be all over that ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEGEND Was planning on watching TWBB tonight in his honor ... as if I need an excuse to watch it again.

I think ITNOTF is one of Daniel Day-Lewis's top three performances, sometimes it even alienates between that and Phantom Thread as my favorite, which is saying a lot. He feels vulnerable and defeated in that film, that it's just spectacular to watch.

How could you, Winona?! SHE NEVER ASKED, GOD DAMN IT! His "she never asked me" at the end of that movie is one of those line deliveries that sticks with me. I can hear it exactly in his voice when I read it. So sad.

I guess DDL must not be as worthy of an early birthday wish as Pacman and old Jack!

Happy birthday to the one of the top 3 GOATs.
I said it before, but he needs to unretire, to reteam with Scorsese or PTA for another final film, and do another show stopping performance, just to show, especially in the wake of The Father's critical success, to Anthony Hopkins who's really the greatest living British actor.

Closing out the GOATs birthday week Nicholson, Pacino and the youngster DDL 4/22-4/29: Finally saw a TV performance of his today that I needed to catch up with (technically a re-watch but I had totally forgotten this and needed the fresh take) - The Insurance Man (1986) - a very fine and thought out supporting turn. Some of his TV work is no big deal imo but this is a real good one - worth seeing as a whole too - one of those nightmarish sides of work as bureaucracy Hell (is there any other kind?). Happy Birthday 4 / 29 / 22 - Happy 65th! ........I heard he's coming out of retirement btw ......nah you guys always fall for that
