Me and Coop are discussing it right now, as we actually kind of fall on opposite sides of this argument. We will get back to everyone with an official verdict shortly. Come on... it should obviously be a top 100. 250 is a ridiculous number for one decade and I don't think anyone on here wants to sit through a 5 hour presentation. He could list 150 honorable mentions in one post if he's really so preoccupied with the 250 thing. Oh don't worry, I'm right there with you.

Nobody wants to scroll through 10 pages of random films to get to the Top 100.

You could always divide it over two days: have the first day be 250-101, just so that it gets the blood pumping for the next day, which is the Top 100.

My problem with having 50 movies on a ballot is that the more "popular" movies will get more sway, as everyone will have seen them. I'd like to see more passion picks like Mysteries of Lisbon or Tower just to shake things up, and I imagine that they would have trouble breaking the top 100 if we each have 50 movies.
As for doing a top 100 over 250, I'm on the side of "too much" on that argument.

The people have spoke. See I thought Of it the other way around, that having 50 would allow room for more than just the popular picks. I thought it would be fun to try and see what we come up with, but there’s seems to be enough thst don’t like the idea at all so we don’t have to.
Or for experimental purposes we can take the list of 50 and score the 25 like we normally would and I’ll do the 50 just to see for fun.

For the couple of people who have already sent their ballots, don't worry, you don't have to re-send or anything. We'll obviously just take the Top 25 from your list, unless instructed otherwise.

It would be interesting to see what the differences would be, as an experiment. One can't know how it'll turn out.

FYCA Very Long EngagementMaybe my favorite historical epic in a decade full of them ... and underseen too so please check it out if you haven't. Way better than the garbage Jeunet made before it ... would be cool if this placed higher than that though that's certainly unlikely. Yes it's a bit cheesy but I love its sweeping scope and tone, and absolutely breathtaking work from Delbonnel as well...

5 ballots in and here are some interesting facts:
- One film has already appeared at the top of two separate lists
- We have an animated film in our Top 5
- Adventureland is higher than Mulholland Drive, Inglorious Basterds and There Will Be Blood

FYCBeau TravailA PSA to all my fellow Denis stans -- this is eligible this decade -- considered a 1999 film but didn't actually get its theatrical release until 2000, so please don't forget to vote for it here. And anyone who hasn't seen it ... now's your chance.
