Will always be important to me for The Rain People (1969) a film that worked out a lot of FF Coppola themes (including his famous masterpieces ending thing - even non-masterpieces) and enabled him to do things he never got around to much - it's a feminist classic and an experimental classic in a way. Ahead of its time, anticipates a lot of his great work and Knight is utterly amazing in this role sexy, modern, aching, complex, a great performance. RIP

I've only seen her in those two projects that I know of. She was wonderful in both, amazingly so in Dark at the Top of the Stairs where the anguish of her performance really sneaked up on me and transcended the melodramatic material (this role might've been nothing, Knight made it something). Still need to see The Rain People...
RIP this talented woman. Must see more of her work.

I remember her mostly from "Desperate Housewives". The Rain People, Sweet Bird of Youth and Playing For Time are on my immediate watchlist.

And James Caan is so damn hot in this. That haircut alone gets him to the front of the line.
