Happy to have Tatiana Maslany back on my screen. I'm not overly familiar with the origins of the character and only caught some reruns at my grandpa's as a kid -- but this looks very promising!

Wasn't RDJ supposed to be in this?

Noir always makes for the best trailers, but damn, these HBO dramas have a look to them that's just incredible. The cinematography here is stunning. Definitely gonna be watching this.

Wasn't RDJ supposed to be in this? I think he was just producing it. Not sure if he was ever supposed to star as well.

Looks fantastic. Already disappointed that it's only a mini-series.

It would have been pretty baller for RDJ to do an HBO series on the heels of ending his Iron Man run tbh. Hopefully he can find a nice project soon that he won’t film in front of a green screen.

Reviews are up - so far solid not spectacular .....premieres tonight Certified Fresh at 78% atm. Brimming with top notch performances and dripping in style, Perry Mason's compelling mystery mostly makes up for its messy storytelling.www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/perry_mason_2020/s01

I don’t know how far along Nick Pizzolatto‘s involvement with this went but this first episode sort of reeked of him to me. Rhys is real real good though, so I’ll stick around.

Lotta recognizable faces in the cast, I didn't even know Lithgow was in this. I didn't get much outta the first ep, might not even continue watching. Tim Van Patten directed 5 of the 8 eps - he did some of the best Sopranos eps. I think the fault is more in the writing - slow, with unappealing ideas/details. One small plus was Shea Whigham who probably deserved the title role....

Any show that has a dead baby in the first three minutes and a woman covered in whipped cream getting eaten out by minute seven has me subscribed. The ensemble gets crazier by the minute.

Tried to be a layered piece of work, a reminisce of it's time period but the subplots were not engaging even though Tatiana Maslany acted her ass off. The courtroom drama is the one that i cared for even if it's 'been there, done that'. I liked the climax and the resolution of the show than the start. Rhys is a good Mason. Great production values from HBO.

so long as they don't mess with the style of the show and keep Terrence Blanchard's horn section, I'm fine with it. Don't fix what ain't broke.

Found this show at the library. I heard it was nominated for Best Actor and Supporting Actor at the Emmys. So far I have seen the first three episodes. The show is growing on me. The first episode was decent -- had no idea it was a prequel. The second episode was solid, the third was pretty good.
