Jeff Beck is the greatest guitarist ever - period...........and I know Jimi Hendrix is the Brando of the guitar (which makes Clapton the Clift) but Jeff Beck is 75 now which makes him the Pacino of longevity or something? At an age where Clapton barely plays, Jimmy Page hasn't in ages, Hendrix is dead, Blackmore is well, not what he was to be kind......Beck sounds like a 20 year old kid cutting loose with his new toy and about to smash it like in Blow-Up (1966!). Johnny sings well but Jeff Beck is a genuine God being Godlike......that sounds like a guitar factory not someone just playing guitar. Loooooooooooooooooove him........a genuine one of a kind artist......

Depp singing John Lennon's Isolation live opposite the greatest guitarist in Rock history last night in the UK - Jeff Beck (Hendrix RIP, still number2 yeah I said it.......FIGHT ME!) May 29th.....so not sweating the verdict much I guess. Beck at 77 now is still something to behold btw - still playing without a pick .....the 2nd song is "Hedy Lamarr" written by Depp btw. Hmmm......they've made an album too - due next month. Oh my......Jeff hasn't made an album in some time.....this is like making a movie where you act with Al Pacino or Marlon Brando or something..........oh right he already did those things....... "โI met this guy five years ago and weโve never stopped laughing since,โ Beck told the crowd, according to the BBC. โWe actually made an album. I donโt know how it happened. It will be out in July,โ he said. deadline.com/2022/06/johnny-depp-album-beck-concert-uk-court-victory-amber-heard-1235037914/

Whenever I see him share the stage with someone, he's incredibly generous, not trying to steal the show. And that scene in Blow-Up is classic. He's one of my favorites. An unsung guitarist who really does it for me though, and we lost him a few years ago, is Peter Green. I think out of that group of English white boys from the 60s who loved the blues, he really brought it. It was that tone he was able to get out of his instrument for me. Ugh. I have to say this, and this might sound weird, but I think Clift is not a good comparison for Clapton. Clapton is a bigger giant to the guitar (in terms of legacy not going off personal taste) than Clift was to acting. I think Clapton is the Brando and Hendrix the James Dean?
