yeah and you would kind of think there would be a lot of pretty good stuff that they could get the rights to at a fairly decent price

That it is. i don't know if it is possible but I have heard that they have software so you can get into US only sites, and if you can do that take a look at Filmstruck and Warner Archive instant. They are US only (supposedly) but their selections are excellent.

I overheard someone say this once: "Netflix doesn't have a lot of old crap, it's mostly new stuff so people don't get turned off and cancel their subscription."

They use to, but I think they spent so much on original content, that they're library is becoming barren.

You should take a look at Netflix Germany . I would kill to have the content Netflix USA or Canada have.

Agreed, although I'm talking from the perspective of the Ireland/UK version. I flick through on occasion to see if any of the older best picture winners I haven't seen are available and I almost never see one.

Their lack of content is very frustrating.

I can't even find black n white films on their instant queue these days. It's very frustrating.

I constantly see Classics when I log on to browse. I'd say it's quite the opposite, I wish they had more quality recent releases available... I swear most every 2016/17 release is straight-to-dvd quality.

TCM or someone should start a all-classics streaming service, there appears to be an opportunity to fill that void in the market.

TCM or someone should start a all-classics streaming service, there appears to be an opportunity to fill that void in the market. That would be a good idea. For the time being, Warner Archive has a nice, eclectic, underrated variety of films, bnut an all-classics service would be great.
