People always say "It's not the time for politics!" yeah I get it ............ but the world only spins forward and there will be a time for it........so why don't we discuss it?
Use your crystal ball:
Will Covid-19 sink Trump for a Biden win in a matter of months? Is Covid-19 a "war time event"- incumbents rarely lose in a war time presidency.
Will Covid-19 effect any cultural shifts - to the right or left? Perceptions of the media (better? worse?), religion and God and ethics in the culture (I just did a Bergman film festival for fnchksake - never has God and Death (or the "God-state" as in China) been in the news as much that I recall), never has a Republican party seemed to be "doing Socialism" as much as they are right now with US declarations/involvement in civil liberties or payouts/bailouts.......

Oh honey, what's Covid-19? Is it like the US answer to Tik Tok? Disregard Legend! - I combined the current virus name while working on my new screenplay "Co-Ed - 19?" a romantic comedy about a girl at college who fakes her age and her climaxes and who also gets and transmits a bacterial infection. It has many levels to it.......

Ugh, I was already the most worried about him getting reelected, and now I could see it if he's actually even somewhat competent through all of this. So far he really hasn't been, but he gets so much praise when he actually is like I think on Tuesday or Monday when he actually seemed to be all there for once. So I think the bar is pretty low and that could mean reelection. Plus as some Sanders's supporters have tweeted today, Biden has been missing and hasn't really said anything lately about the crisis, so it almost feels like the Democrats are ceding the election already.

Your screenplay sounds like a perfect vehicle for me... but I'm already preparing to pitch my own screenplay, Wuh Wuh virus, which is a contagion story set on a runaway steam train through a perilous Oriental mountain range, if I can find someone who can draw some... It's a period drama with lots of panting, ripping off corsets as I have trouble breathing, more panting, and breathy dialogue (I'm working with a voice coach who only has half a lung)... Oh and there's also a morphine induced, side story involving a cute talking Yak (in case Disney wants to pick it up)... Of course, they'll be plenty of Merch... and a Gangnam style dance.

Trump wins 2020 soundly if those $1-2K checks go out and if corona isn't a big thing anymore by August.

The economy is the one "no excuses" area for politicians with the public. No one cares if it's your fault or not, if the economy is in a recession you aren't winning. So if this ends up driving the economy into a recession Trump's not winning. Pretty sure no incumbent President has ever won with a recession in an election year.
On the other hand, if we're back to normal by May as some optimistic projections say I don't think anyone's thinking about this anymore by November with the 24 hour news cycle. We'll be back to squabbling about culture war crap. So I think this has the potential to hurt Trump if it drags on a while and creates long term economic impacts but not really to help him. Although I guess you could say simply having this out of the news by November would help Trump just by taking away something that could really hurt him.

Nah even if the economy looks better in May, it's still gonna go to shit again in the summer when the Q2 results come out. Coronavirus may have blown over by May/June (before making a comeback in the winter) but the economy's toast regardless.

Only now do you start to see some shape for assessments culturally long-term - depression, increases in suicide rate - this seems logical not just with being cut-off socially but due to losses in income and quality of life. The emotional health of the US is a concern and I see it just in my contact with co-workers. The perceptions of the media I think are going to have long-term ramifications - watching local news is disastrously sinister now and I actually see misleading "facts" on the news almost more than I've seen politically even. Does anyone think the media is doing a good job because I don't see it (?) Politically, well 8 months out from the election, even closer for the conventions, campaigning seems at least gutted looking ahead .... Take care of yourselves, stay well and be well

Bring back the guillotine or free helicopter rides for central bankers and the politicians who encourage and enable their actions.
