Going based of his number of regenerations, there should only be one more actor playing the Doctor after Capaldi. Of course the usual suspects are getting thrown around like Cumberbatch, Hiddleston and Redmayne but I feel like a) they are two big and b) they are in too many things lately/they're pretty busy.
If they are to go the traditional route of a white male I like the idea of either Domhnall Gleeson or Ben Whishaw. If they are willing to change things up then Richard Ayoade or Idris Elba if they go someone of colour, or if they go for a female perhaps Olivia Colman, Natalie Dormer or Hayley Atwell.
My Top 3 picks would probably be Ayoade, Whishaw and Dormer. I think Gleeson and Colman could make really good companions.
What say you guys?

They're getting rid of Capaldi already?

It won't be the final regeneration. Doctor Who makes too much money for the BBC for them to stop any time soon.
Anyway, I don't think it will be anyone expected.

They're getting rid of Capaldi already? Yeah, he only has one more season.

If it's a bigger(ish) actor, I think someone like Chiwetel Ejiofor would be a blast to watch. He can do the comedy and drama and feel like the Doctor.
It won't be the final Doctor anyway. The Doctor has already had more regenerations than his official numbering, and Moffat & Co. made sure to loophole their way out of a limit to regenerations because of the whole War Doctor thing when Eccleston wouldn't return (which is too bad, as I'm a big Nine fanboy).

Real talk, they should've just folded the War Doctor story into Eight. Paul McGann is my favorite Doctor and deserved a proper sendoff, not just that short "Night of the Doctor." I love what Hurt brought to the proceedings, but it would've been the perfect way to say goodbye to a Doctor who never got his time to shine on-screen, especially with the cult following his character has developed with the audio dramas.

I never knew Eight, but I'm sure he deserved more than that short bit he got.
