I've said this before - the "early 80s Modigliani" film that Scorsese was going to do with Pacino - would have allowed her to play opposite Pacino as Modigliani's lover Jeanne Hébuterne - if she was cast - that could have been great Do you know if this eventually became the 2004 film starring Andy Garcia and Elsa Zylberstein in the Pacino/Huppert roles? Similarly, the Mary, Queen of Scots film from 2018 with Saoirse Ronan and Margot Robbie was meant for Huppert and Close in those roles in the 90s, initially.

Different source text iirc - the Pacino version was by Dennis McIntyre I think - and the Garcia one either rewrote that script or was a whole different original script ......the Pacino movies that he didn't make in the 80s are quite astonishing especially with how bad his 80s were: Pope of Greenwich Village w/ De Niro, American Buffalo (wtf), Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion (remake), Modigliani......oh and um......... Wall Street
