Well, I watched Outbreak on Netflix. After that, I did break rules and watched Shawsank since it was trending. I think I'll watch something called Carriers next but only cause it has Chris Pines. Hopefully, it doesn't suck.

Didn't see The Hot Zone with Julianna Margulies last year because there was just too much to watch, but now I'm thinking I have to.

Gee, I don't know how about a movie about an actual plague, starring a recently deceased great actor where the people act childish and mad and the presence of God eventually is shown - and is in this way hopeful as a film and is you know a masterpiece? Oh and it's free on Youtube.

Night of the Living Dead, because, as always, it is people who are the real fucking problem.
Failing that, How Stella Got Her Groove Back.

Given that walking around is almost forbidden, thus, the streets are empty and the shops are closed, I am Legend would be an appropriate movie to watch...

Just watched Girlhood for the first time. This movie fucking ROCKS. That ending shot is almost as incredible as the Portrait of a Lady on Fire finale.
SPOILERS: So Marieme can't bear to go back to her broken home situation. So here's the final shot: she cries on the wall as the camera pushes forward and reaches the outside world, vast and unforgiving. Here at the end of all things, she has nowhere to go. Her tears are heard offscreen as the camera focuses on a blurry world that has no place for our protagonist, so much so that she's literally forced off the frame, her suffering no longer relevant to society. The viewer thinks this is where the story ends: a talented and beautiful human being who falls between the cracks and is lost to a life of poverty and probable early death. And THEN, within the same shot, Marieme suddenly enters, shifting the same shot into a closeup on our heroine. She looks determined, ready to face this precarious situation no matter the cost, and walks offscreen. And suddenly a film that had just proven itself to be a beautiful tragedy transforms at the last second to become an empowering mission statement to seizing one's dreams. Celine Sciamma is the greatest.
