It's not that good, but it's not as bad as I thought it would be. I laughed a lot, but maybe that's just me because I'm weird lol. Admittedly the humor could have been a lot sharper though, but I did like how it reminded me a lot of Deep Blue Sea in that some of the biggest names got taken out pretty early on . Also it's worth it just to see Betty Gilpin's brilliant performance. Hilary Swank is pretty good too, but it's Gilpin who carries the whole film. The whole Snowball thing just killed me. And for fans of It's Always Sunny, there's a few laughs featuring Glenn Howerton.

I thought this was pretty great for what it was tbh. I was definitely entertained and I laughed out loud several times. And agree that Gilpin was fantastic and also enjoyed many of the smaller supporting performances. I also quite enjoyed Swank.

It's thoroughly mediocre and definitely feels like an interesting concept wasted on a pretty stupid storyline but I do have to give the movie credit for not picking a political side and basically being pretty fair in its satirical depiction of both conservatives and liberals. In fact I think it may actually be tougher on the latter which for a Hollywood production seems like an unthinkable and bold move. The lead character's political affiliation is smartly left unsaid so it makes it easy for viewers on either side to root for her. But I still feel that a decent idea is kinda wasted on a mediocre film. It's not as funny as it needs to be, it doesn't go into any interesting directions script-wise - it just makes some fun of the ridiculousness of current political discourse and becomes a pretty simplistic kill'em all thriller which offers nothing particularly exciting in terms of its action. A crazy take on a Mel Brooks type of movie it certainly isn't although I believe Jason Blum referred to it as such. And I must say, and I'm not even sure whether I mean this as a negative or actually a positive, but Betty Gilpin's performance was quite...weird. She certainly did an unusual job which I guess I gotta appreciate.
