He will be 78 when sworn in - the oldest man ever elected President - older than Reagan when Ronnie Raygun left after his 2nd term. Sometimes his mental lapses are sort of Grandpa-ish endearing and sometimes they are more than just a little scary tbh. Unacceptable Answer Here : Depends who his VP pick is!

No way he'll make it past 8 years.
So yes...it does.
At 4 years, he'll probably take a backseat to his vice president doing all the work. His retirement will probably precede the end of his tenure.

I genuinely wonder how much mental capacity he has left.

He's only 4 years older than the person who currently occupies the Oval Office - the difference is of course that Biden actually behaves like an adult.
Next question.

Yeah, this is basically how I feel. The three guys that are still in it are all old. One of them already had a mild heart attack not too long ago and won't release his health records now. The one that is in office now doesn't seem with it mentally at all, and while some people can do unhealthy stuff for most of their lives like eat junk or smoke and drink, I do wonder if his poor eating habits will eventually catch up with him. So for me, Biden is actually the best choice even with being the oldest, and seeming like he's not with it either sometimes.

Yeah you never know when that catches up to you - that is his big issue whereas I don't think Biden only being 4 years older is as simple as it seems because in your '70s 4 years can matter a ton. I wonder more about Biden's energy level though related to age almost more than what sort cognitive function lapses - Trump has far more energy it seems - that will be a big thing to watch if Biden gets the nomination - can Biden match him for appearances......

Age shouldn’t matter as long as the person is healthy and still has great cognitive function.
The issue with Biden is that there’s signs of him having cognitive decline, especially when compared to just like 6 years ago. Go and watch his debates against Paul Ryan and watch his debates in this primary. He’s on two different ends of the spectrum in regards to performance.

Both he and Trump are too old so it's a wash. Some of these criticisms of Biden just have no self awareness, like people bringing up gaffes, as if someone is going to vote for Trump of all people because they don't want a candidate who makes gaffes.

God no, but skipping the top of the ticket is extremely likely tbh....... That's basically a vote for Trump. I'm in a pretty slam dunk blue state .......but yeah that's a valid point. I'm pretty appalled by what the Democrats put up this year - I'd have voted for Amy Klobuchar over Trump though dammit! I just think Biden and Bernie are awful candidates and I think Joe Biden's "at least I'm not Trump" is crassly unappealing but maybe Joe will win me over. There's time, I want to be convinced....

He might end up being the first party nominee to actually die while campaigning.

He might end up being the first party nominee to actually die while campaigning. Horace Greeley died in 1872 while running for office. He'd lost the popular vote already, but still.

Yea between popular vote and electoral vote like you said so it didn't matter. Biden would be the first to die while campaigning before the 11/4 election and I really wouldn't be shocked if it happened.

Biden makes me think of this :
Guildenstern: What's the first thing you remember? Rosencrantz: [thinks] No, it's no good. It was a long time ago. Guildenstern: No, you don't take my meaning. What's the first thing you remember after all the things you've forgotten? Rosencrantz: Oh, I see... I've forgotten the question.

Funny how I didn't hear much about that with Sanders, who's older and had a recent heart attack, but hey, I suppose his fans will always look for an excuse to discredit anyone that's not him.
Obviously, Sanders, Trump and Biden are all too old for the job, but they are the only choices in the American oligarchy, and clearly Biden is more mentally sound than Trump.

Biden to me is the equivalent of the deaf old people joke: 3 friends are standing around:
Old man #1 - It's windy!
Old man #2 - No it's not Wednesday, it's Thursday
Old man #3 - I'm thirsty too .....let's go get a drink

That's because Sanders is about a hundred times more articulate and vibrant. Like I said, it's not the literal number, it's the way Biden stumbles over his words and forgets things so much.

Show me videos where Bernie trips over his words and rambles incoherently like Biden. Also, you heard it a lot with Bernie. Corporate media talked about it a loooot. Especially after his heart attack.

Seems like a poor excuse to me. The undeniable fact is that Sanders is both older and had a recent serious health problem. The issue is that the Bros seem to want an excuse to stay at home, because they'd rather have Trump win than have someone else in control of the party and the left.
