Seems solid enough for The Invisible Man, and it could do around 28m. Given the amount of crappy horror films we've gotten in the past two months, hopefully it breaks out at the box office.

That's incredible.I honestly didn't think this film would blow up the way it has. I know! I thought the 17 year hiatus may have hurt the general interest in another installment, but damn do these guys have some serious star power. Plus the film is actually good, so there’s that as well. 😂

Great for The Invisible Man. It looks to have had strong Friday night matinees. Also whoa at My Hero Academic, I didn't even remember that was being released the past week. Strong Saturday increase for The Invisible Man, about on par with Get Out too. At this point how do you not just auto-greenlight any Wan/Whannell project?

At this point how do you not just auto-greenlight any Wan/Whannell project? After the success of ‘The Invisible Man, I would say Whannell deserves that privilege now. What I love about BLUMHOUSE is that they encourage their directors/writers to be as creatively free as possible, without the burden of a massive budget lingering over their heads. If it works out, you’re absolutely golden. If it doesn’t, so be it. But Whannell has been on the cusp of a huge breakout for a while now, so I’m happy for him. Wan on the other hand is a different animal altogether. He’s helmed two solo films that have crossed the billion dollar mark, as well as being an integral part of highly profitable ‘Conjuring Universe’. Pretty sure he’s going to be returning for an Aquaman sequel but before that he’s back to his horror roots with MALIGNANT this summer. He’s easily a WB golden boy.

Another great thing about Blumhouse is that they're generally really good at keeping their budgets under, so even their critical flops like Fantasy Island, and Black Christmas aren't huge money losers. It's why their one of the most successful independent studios currently working today. Hollywood in general could learn a lot from Blumhouse. I also hope they keep making movies with Whannell. He's easily one of my favorite genre / horror filmmakers working these days.
