A fun little horror anthology series that ran on Showtime in the mid-2000s. Pretty hit-or-miss overall, but some episodes are quite great, showcasing a wide variety of talent from a number of genre filmmakers. I'm still watching through S2, but my favorite episodes so far are "Dreams in the Witch House", "Sick Girl", and "Cigarette Burns". Takashi Miike's entry "Imprint" is pretty memorably grotesque, and along with Carpenter's joint, seems to be the most acclaimed.

Uff, seen it so long ago...I remember really enjoying that series. Cigarette Burns is amazing but all are pretty chilling and worth checking out. So many good actors there too

Cigarette Burns needs to be remade as a feature length feature - it's great but hurt by this format, and it's a terrific horror tale and a terrific movie lover tale.......just an inspired idea for film.

Never seen this show but it's been on my radar for a while. Maybe this October I'll get around to watching it.

I remember watching that episode named "Jenifer" (directed by Dario Argento) when I was a kid...it's a piece of shit but damn if it didn't traumatize me, it was just fucking weird

Hit and miss. Carpenter's Cigarette Burns is amazing, and I really liked Coscarelli's Incident on and Off a Mountain Road, quite unsettling. It's been so long since I last watched the show however.

Making my way through these again and just re-watched Argento's Jenifer which I always thought was just a misfire from a faltering director but now seems like the funniest, goriest, borderline sexually explicit/pornographic, most cat and small child unfriendly TV episode ever - made by a sort of hanging in there (and still somewhat faltering) director. It also has to be his most tightly wound narrative far more than most of his loopy film plots - maybe TV is for him after all (?).......and didn't realize star Steven Weber wrote/adapted this too....didn't know about its comic origins.......and didn't get its Beauty and The Beast thematic strands.......wtf............come on pacinoyes get your head in the game.....

I've only seen a handful of episodes which were hit and miss, but I really need to watch the rest. Imprint is nuts.

Man, it's funny re-visiting these - as much as I think I underrated "Jenifer" - I literally blocked out Argento's "Pelts" - his other MoH episode - out of my mind completely - that was absolutely dire. One of his worst and maybe his mostly visually bland ever. Some interesting kills (tied into how we kill animals for fur), but not worth it...... How is this rated higher as an episode on IMDB than "Jenifer"?

I also somewhat forgot Imprint - that is a genuine horror in every way ........in its look, plot, hard to watch factor, it's images and twists ...............and Billy Drago's acting which is perhaps the most awful/horrific thing of all. A must see really from Miike - 7/10 - this could also be re-done as a feature like Cigarette Burns:
