super funny. smart. isnt heavy handed on the social commentary (mostly because its also not trying to say too much about it). and they dont over do the camp.
everyone in the cast is fantastic, but a special shout out to catherine o'hara. she.is.everything!!!!!!

I'm halfway through season two. O'Hara and Levy are icons, and I always make a point to watch anything they do together. Love the mayor's name, "Roland Schitt."

I quite love the show, especially Dan Levy - riotously cliched.........but not.
After season 1 this show really kicks in - I can understand people not getting it at first - but Eugene Levy and O'hara have such great rapport and the cast including perennial comic gold Chris Elliot do so much to overcompensate for weak writing. They could just film them doing anything and I'd laugh - and that's saying something because the show is really a 2010s update of Beverly Hillbillies or the Howell's from Gilligan's Island crossed with Green Acres or Mayberry.
It doesn't even matter, it gets you anyway......

I'm watching Season 4 finally and I love how Moira's "showbiz" past keeps popping up - playing Patty Hearst (imagine THAT musical) and God knows what happened with her and Johnny Thunders at the Mudd Club - lol, and the out of nowhere green hair.

The show is fucking hilarious. It seemed tacky and too on the nose at first but omg do the core actors really know how to work a script. I also love the dynamic between the family.
Bonus points for the consistency across the seasons; it still hasn’t lost its charm

3eps into S5, perfectly hilarious so far. And - maybe I just missed her and idk how this is even possible but this might be Moira at her funniest. Physically haven’t stopped laughing at her with every moment so far this season.....

The Emmy love makes me so happy -- especially for Annie Murphy. Incredibly deserved.

Started watching this after all the Emmy wins. The first season is okay but the second season is pure gold.

I watched the first 4 or so episodes a few weeks ago and thought they were pretty damn bad. Wondering if I should give it another shot.

I didn't mind the first season but you could definitely see it was still figuring itself out, and a lot of the humour fell flat. It instantly improves in season 2, and it's only up from there.

I'm never into having to watch six or eight episodes of something to get hooked, but this one is definitely worthwhile. I thought it had a bumpy start but it finds its way, for sure.

I'm trying to figure out how this happened. The basic premise of the show is lifted from a show in the 80's with some changes of course.

Finished the entire thing. This is such a wholesome show. Loved the last episode. Highly recommended. How would you guys rank the cast? Annie Murphy is definitely the MVP for me followed by the wonderful duo of Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara. I'm so ready to watch all of their movies together now. I liked Dan Levy in the first two seasons but his character went on to become slightly annoying with constant whining. Nevertheless, his chemistry with Noah Reid is beautiful and I love their storyline. Such a cute little gem.

Karen Robinson I thought Dan Levy was just playing himself the whole time.

S6 is wonderful..... Moira's pronunciations of words this season, like plea bargain and peregrination, are amazing. And the references as usual are hilarious - Peter Falk was the voice of a haunted cave in her soap opera? This was to me Chris Elliott's funniest season yet. Lotta great side-character scenes (except the corny Twyla twist) - and a guest appearance by Saul Rubinek as Moira's agent with vertigo ("Standing isn't all that it's cracked up to be"). Gonna miss the Roses, it's always been a very touching show about family and community and growth and worth, and despite the dip of S4.... S5/6 prove how pin-perfect the writers and actors understand these characters.

s6, e1 - "How mercurial is life? We all imagine being carried from the ashes by the goddess Artemis .......and here I get a balatron from Barnum & Bailey."That might sum up Moira more than anything........
