Streisand! She was the loveliest, most heartswelling thing.
Though Hepburn was great and deserved her win. That was a really good year. Loved all the 4 nominees I saw.

I prefer Funny Girl as a movie but Hepburn gave the better performance.

This is actually a fascinating combination because neither of these actresses had much range. Streisand was explosive in Funny Girl and it's among her best work. On the other hand, Eleanor of Aquitaine is a much more lasting and significant role and Hepburn's charismatic theatrical style fit it to a T so I have to go with her, though I do think Streisand cracks my top 5 too. It's wild that they tied.
on a related note, Be Kind Rewind is such an amazing channel. Her videos are always so well-researched and she brings such wonderful analysis to her topics (loved her video about Streep). I've learned so much from watching them. The channel is an absolute necessity for an movie or Oscar nerd!

Hepburn is terrific but I was shocked by how amazing Streisand was in "Funny Girl".

WOODWARD. But of the two options, Hepburn. I also think it's her best work. Great video, btw, thanks for posting (love her!). Stephen and I discuss this occasionally and I'm still firmly in the camp that I would never vote for myself at the Oscars and he begs to differ.
