Happy 88th birthday to the GOAT (one year for every key on the piano)
His scores are nearly impossible to rank for me, but here's a top 5:
The Empire Strikes Back Superman E.T. Schindler's List Jaws

THE genius. THE GOAT.
I don't think I'll be able to rank his greatest scores either...I love them so goddamn much. Superman, the Indiana Jones movies, E.T., Empire of the Sun, Hook, JFK, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Amistad, Saving Private Ryan, A.I., the Harry Potter movies, Catch Me If You Can, Memoirs of a Geisha, War Horse, Tintin, The BFG... And of course the Star Wars scores are just in a class of their own. He's just a cinematic treasure who has given me so many beautiful emotions and memories.

The greatest!!! Many happy returns, mr. Williams!!
I'd say his best work is in the Star Wars saga in general (specifically in the Empire) and then his Superman theme.

Happy 89th birthday to the Maestro!
Here's a rare, extensive (8-part) interview from 1983:

I can't pick a favorite but every time I hear the theme from Indiana Jones, I get all mushy inside.
I think the is one is underrated:

Happy Birthday Mr. Williams! So many classics its damn near difficult to rank his work. But for me personally, every time I hear his Superman theme during the opening credits..it brings me chills. The greatest superhero theme ever imo. Classic.

The GOAT turns 90 big ones tomorrow! John Williams at 90: ‘He is so much smarter than his critics’ Great article on the ongoing shift in attitude towards John Williams within elite cultural circles. Frank Lehman, a friend and colleague of mine who is a John Williams scholar, is quoted in it! As wonky mentioned in the Fabelmans thread, it's comforting news to finally get confirmation that JW is scoring the film. This is a project that absolutely requires his involvement, and I'm sure we're in for something special.

What a stone cold legend. May there be many more to come. Watching him in Berlin last year out there going strong at 89 was amazing. What a badass.

Wow, this is big stuff. Although it's completely understandable at his age. The bit about the emotions of "The Fabelmans" makes me even more excited about it (although that's barely possible). Quite sad to think that Spielberg may have to go on without Williams after this project but there couldn't possibly be a more fitting way to close out their collaboration.

One of my favourite Big Johnny tributes is from what turned out to be total smoke blowing by Hans Zimmer:
