The Peter Perrett has overtaken the Afghan Whigs as my favorite record too now - tragic, romantic, fascinating as an album and a lyrical confession, and it rewards repeated listens - just a shade below the first 2 Only Ones records or their Peel Sessions and completely unexpected (to me at least).

SZA's album CTRL has replaced Damn. as my favorite album to listen to this year. It's fantastic. She beautifully captures in her songs all of the insecurities women have.
This song is my favorite:

Haven't listen to a lot of 2017 releases, not much has caught up my attention but that doesn't mean there's good stuff out there, right now I can think of:
LCD Soundsystem, American Dream Lorde, Melodrama Benjamin Booker, Witness Run the Jewels, 3 Aimee Mann, Mental Illness Kendrick Lamar, Damn
Artist I love but not in top form: Thundercat, Drunk Arcade Fire, Everything Now Feist, Pleasures Foster the People, Sacred Hearts Club

Haven't listened to many albums so far, but i have a lot stuff on my radar.

St. Vincent/Annie Clark's new album that dropped today is the sh*t. The best work of her career so far. It's eclectic, it's got electronic stuff like on her last album, the weird lounge music type stuff from her first couple albums, and a little rock. Sort of like her White Album where it's an amalgam of all the stuff she's done before.

Rap fans who likes to hear real lyricism should check out Cyhi the Prynce's new album. It is incredible and definitely up there with SZA and Rapsody as the best I've heard this year.
