the optics aren't as bad as at the BAFTAs but they're still pretty terrible. No female directors, no Farewell (on either side of the camera), and only one person of color in the acting lineups... yikes
1917 is looking stronger by the day for the big win.
Yeah I'm thinking it had the biggest boost today with the screenplay nod and with OUATIH missing editing. I really hope that's how it plays out since it's the only thing in the top five with a chance of winning that would actually deserve it.
