I have to say Bhowani Junction - it's also one of her best performances. She's so haunting and evocative as an Anglo-Indian woman. Pandora and the Flying Dutchman is a close second, though - so lush, so gorgeous.

Haven't seen many of her films but I think I'll also go with The Barefoot Contessa.

Fun! Did you ever see this LaraQ? I think it must have only shown in the UK, because I don't remember it at all.

Oh honey, that's beautiful. I've always wanted to go to Portofino, Amalfi coast and Sorrento. Just looking at that view makes me happy. Thank you.

Oh @tyler I love this image.
I was reading something a while back about Ava's last years in London and came across this interview with her Ecuadorian housekeeper which made me laugh:
"For three months I was working for her, and I did not know who was working for. I did not know who was 'Ava Gardner.' My friends say, 'Where are you working?' I say, 'It is an American lady. No husband. She comes in and out. Some people come. I never pay attention what they're talking about. She is very nice.' One day she says to me, 'Carmen, I would like you to come with me. I have to go to...' Someplace, some country, maybe it was Mexico. I was nervous. I said, 'I will think about it.' She said, 'Don't think about it. We will have a good time.' I said, 'Miss Gardner, why we have to go to this place?' She said, "i have to go work, baby, it's my job.' I said, 'You have a job? What kind of job do you do?' She started to laugh. She started to laugh very much. Then she says, 'Carmen, for heaven's sake, don't you know I'm a lousy movie star?'"
