I hate to be the “I liked her before she was popular” guy, but that’s sort of what happened with me with her music. I was familiar with her while she was still up-and-coming and quite enjoyed her stuff, but ever since she blew up I haven’t had any interest in listening to her. Her most well-known stuff isn’t even her best too — if I never had to hear “bad guy” again, I’d die happy.
She’s pretty damn great. WWAFA,WDWG is one of the best albums from last year. Definitely better and more interesting than the vast majority of the most popular artists today (Dua Lipa, Ed Sheeran, Drake, Post Malone, Khalid, etc). Is she getting too overhyped? Maybe. Then again, if you compare her to the people I listed above, I’ll gladly take her music over theres.
I’m sure the mass exposure she’s getting will make people listen to her EP ‘don’t smile at me’, which is a great thing.

She's.....ok, I guess.
I have her new album, but listened to only like the first 4 songs and stopped after Bad Guy. I dunno..... I don't much feel like going further. Maybe she's a diamond in the rough but so far I'm only getting the impression she has a catchy club vibe, and that red alert blaring hook in Bad Guy is the part where the room gets all amped up in the dance night.
