IMDb ListPlease take a few moments to peruse the list if you are so inclined. I'm always open for suggestions and recommendations - do you have any for me?

Weird........
Maybe I missed them but I don't see Emmanulle Beart and Sandrine Bonnaire Sacrebleu!
She might not be major enough but I would think you might love Diana Rigg - a fashion icon she was too!

Ingrid, Huppert, Holly Hunter, Hershey, and Judy Davis make the Top 50 so it's an automatic excellent list. Here are names that'd be on my list that I don't see on yours. Your fav of this bunch? Sissy Spacek Gena Rowlands Geraldine Page Helen Mirren Sandy Dennis Sigourney Weaver Emmanuelle Beart Lauren Bacall Juliette Lewis

Three glaring omissions, who'd probably all make my own Top 25 are Greer Garson, Marisa Tomei and Naomi Watts.

Very good list. Glad to see Irene Pappas on there. Extremely underrated actress and, for me, one of the greatest of all time. If I had to make a list of my favourites, the actresses that I would add, that are missing from your list would be the following:
Mariko Okada Hideko Takamine Anna Karina Rachel Weisz Krystyna Janda Ellie Lambeti Ji-Hyun Jun Qi Shu Faten Hamama

pacinoyes and Mattsby - I really need to see more of Emmanuelle Béart - I've heard only laudatory praise ( Allenism is also a big fan, I believe) but I haven't seen any of her signature performances... Recommend me, quick! Pacinoyes, I believe I've only Bonnaire in La Cérémonie, in which she's more than fine if totally eclipsed by all of her costars. I've only seen Diana Rigg in Game of Thrones - she was easily the best thing about the entire series. Would love to see more of her work! Mattsby, my list is actually in alphabetical order! A personal Top 5 would be something like Rampling, Deneuve, Schneider, Christie, Kidman... Mirren is easily my favorite from your list. I like all of the other women you've named to varying degrees despite having no real affinity for any of them. jimmalone - I like Tomei! I haven't seen enough from Garson. And I really, really don't care for Watts outside of Mulholland Dr. Sorry. eyebrowmorroco - Oh, behave, you! themoviesinner - I also really love Rachel Weisz. I went through a huge phase when I was in college with her. I just wish she worked more!

@jimmamalone - I like Tomei! I haven't seen enough from Garson. And I really, really don't care for Watts outside of Mulholland Dr. Sorry. No need to be sorry. Everybody has his own favourites and preferences.

For Beart: Wait you've seen Jean De Florette/Manon of the Spring right? I mean if not, like that needs to be seen quickly!. Also Un Coeur En Hivre and Nelly et Monsieur Arnaud. Oh and Claude Chabrol's L'Enfer For Bonnaire : A Nos Amours and Vagabond. I think you'll enjoy all of these - like all kindhearted people do

Jean de Florette and Manon are everything (cemented in my Top 5 ever) and Beart is otherworldly in Manon. Agree with Pac's mentions - especially A Heart in Winter - and also a shout out to 8 Femmes where she's (with Huppert) my co-fav, as the lovely and secretive servant, in that great, great cast. also @tyler a random rec, idk if you've seen The Visit with Ingrid but I think you would love her perf there as a glamorous woman with a pet cheetah vengefully overthrowing her provincial hometown that repudiated her years earlier.

I'm a fan of almost everryone on that list. Who's missing ? Bacall, I'm surprised you didn't include her, her poise is a lethal weapon Also, as someone said above Sandrine Bonnaire, Bergman ladies ( Bibbi and Harriet ) and Simone Signoret, if you're not familiar with her I'd recommend Casque d'or, Diabolique, La Ronde, Army of Shadows, Madame Rosa and Ship of Fools

avnermoriarti - I've seen Signoret in Les sorcières de Salem (really fun movie!), but in none of her signature roles. I'll have to remedy that!
