been wanting to catch Girlfriends for a while now. funny that in a slew of releases featuring Fellini and Scorsese what I'm most excited about is Moonstruck. Wonderful Italian-American romcom, probably my favorite romcom ever with a bonkers Cage perf that weirdly works and Cher at her most charismatic. Very funny and sweetly romantic, and quirky without being precious. Extras include lots of interviews but as always what has me most interested is that '98 commentary.

It's distressful, it is not titled I Heard You Paint Houses, given its significance is grander in the behemoth.

Love The Irishman cover, solid month compared to the "flavour of the month" criterion's been doing for a while now, but I have to say for all the effort they do on 4k restorations, why not released them on actual 4k ? At this point is kind of stupid...

Memories of Murder special features include his hard to find student film Incoherence (30m)... phenomenal must-see for fans.
Side question - Why did Criterion stop their "Three Reasons" videos for new releases, I liked those!

24-hour 50% off flash sale at criterion.com and criterion channel subscribers should have a $10 promo as well.

Greenaway please. Any year now. Is it a licensing thing? It must be a damn licensing thing.

This video is so funny to me because this is exactly how I would be if I ever got to spend the afternoon with Charlotte Rampling. "Do you like this?" "Have you seen that?" "What do you think about this?" "Please, share your thoughts on..."

I wonder if this means they're never coming back to print. Don't see Paramount wanting to share now that they have their own platform.

I tried to pick up The Friends of Eddie Coyle during the last flash sale and saw it was out of print.

Glad I already own Harold and Maude; kicking myself for never picking up any of the others, all of which I love. There have been so many sales where I came so close to picking up Rosemary's Baby or Don't Look Now, and never did. This blows.

ooooh I haven't seen any of these but Working Girls and Deep Cover pique my interest the most and have been in my watchlist for a while. I gotta see me some Lizzie Borden.
and the Tarkovsky too I guess... *sigh* ... his movies always make me sleepy 😴

The La piscine cover is GORGEOUS. I haven't seen any of these but interested in all of them now (actually heard about Working Girls for the first time today but that was on Sean Baker's Letterboxd). Deep Cover seems to have gotten new life recently. Will definitely watch it now. Considering getting a Criterion Channel subscription.
