Joaquin Phoenix reprising his best role in his career? F-ck yeah, I am excited. Imagine Ledger's Joker returning for a Batman film, had he not passed.
edit: Though, I'd like to add if he was the sole lead in this, and his performance was again legendary, he'd still have a chance for another Oscar win, but with Gaga next to him, it sounds less likely for a repeat. I hope I am wrong.

I doubt he'll win again- his Oscar was partially a career achievement award, and he'll probably have stronger competition.
