#6: (What's the Story) Morning Glory? - OasisPoints: 85 # of ballots: 7 Highest ranking: #7 on 1 ballot Forgot about this, despite predicting it to make it higher than the debut. It has no business being this high. It's a fine record, but Champagne Supernova is the only thing on it that is truly great.

#5: In Utero - NirvanaPoints: 86 # of ballots: 5 Highest ranking: #2 on 1 ballot The true masterwork of this band. If they had to be #1, I hoped it would be with this.

This absolutely should not have placed behind the 2 albums that are ahead of it.

Nevermind is a very fine, but kinda overrated album (sorry folks). I do love it though. Shocked it isn't Top 2.

#3: Nevermind - NirvanaPoints: 96 # of ballots: 5 Highest ranking: #1 on 1 ballot I lose some cool kid points but to me its by far their best record, not only is every song great it is a buoyant record - the songs leap out at you here. It's their Let It Be or New Day Rising or Doolittle - it swings for the fences and connects.

#2: The Bends - RadioheadPoints: 99 # of ballots: 6 Highest ranking: #1 on 1 ballot GTFO - this board has a weird love of pasty faced British bands for some reason - come on. Grrrrrrrrrr

#2: The Bends - RadioheadPoints: 99 # of ballots: 6 Highest ranking: #1 on 1 ballot "He listens to complaint rock" In a weird way, this is my Nevermind, so I'm pleasantly surprised that it edged it out. I even slightly prefer this to our #1.

As stated at the beginning, OK Computer took the top spot on the first ballot and never surrendered the lead. Nor was it in any danger of surrendering that lead.
If Kid A takes #1 in the next poll too I might actually shoot myself.

#1: OK Computer - RadioheadPoints: 165 # of ballots: 8 Highest ranking: #1 on 2 ballots Unlike our number 2 - this is a genuinely great record imo. A crucial one too, no one was listening to albums much in '97 but OK Computer sort of forced you to take it as a whole work.......not in my top 10 but I do like and respect it.

There are now 2 artists who have had albums take the Top 2 spots in a decade: The Rolling Stones and *disappointing pause* Radiohead.

Great job Joaq - this was better to me than the actual 90s were Interesting misses : Exile in Guyville (wtf!) No REM in the 80s or 90s (I think?)
