We're looking for ranked lists of 32 films, 24 actresses, and 24 actors to be submitted before the draft date. If you're going to be present for the live draft, these ballots are still a really helpful tool if you happen to be AFK during your turn (which happened in my draft last year), but absolutely ESSENTIAL if you're going to be totally absent. The ballot/draft process requires participation from everyone to work, so if you miss it, you're going to going to be kicked from the team and lose your Academy membership/privileges, and they're going to take away your star too. Now, about The Draft: I'm pretty flexible with times. Do we prefer weekend or weekday? Evening or night? EST or otherwise? I'm going to throw a date out there just to test the waters and see what time slots/availabilities we're working with here. How about Saturday November 9th at 7pm EST. Ideally our rosters will be all set up before the 11th because I'd like to count the makeup guilds. If y'all want to do it sooner, that's possible too provided everyone gets their ballots sent in. The earlier the better honestly, buuuut the first half of November is pretty sparse so we do have a little breathing room. Most importantly, let's have fun with it! I'm figuring a lot of this out as I go along so please be patient and reach out with whatever questions/concerns you have, not to mention advice, heh. I'm going to link the awards/nominations every time I post with new tallies in case anyone wants to check my work. Let's knock out the competition  EDIT: Awards template + calendar on Page 2 |

one last word on the ballots: yes Deep_Archer and Viced were right, those ballot numbers are recommended for 8-player teams. We're not going to need the entire ballot for a 7-player team. THAT BEING SAID, we're better safe than sorry. If someone joins last minute we absolutely would need the whole ballot and I wouldn't want to hound anyone to get them to add to what they've already sent if that happens. And if no one joins up, it just means there will be a couple films and actors on your ballot that won't be used, soooo not a big deal. Just wanted to clear up the rationale there.
So we are going to need to have each ballot contain 32 films, 24 actresses, and 24 actors, same as last year.

The draft works best for me in the morning or in the afternoon. Saturday at 7 pm EST works great for me. Since that's 4 pm here.  |

For the past few years that I've run the league as captain, I've used Doodle or (I guess since that one now requires payment) Rallly to schedule the best times for Draft. You can set up times (I usually would do like 8am-4pm) throughout a certain week and have people vote for what works for them. And just make sure to clarify that the times you set up are for EST so people like me on the west coast can adjust accordingly. If you decide against it, however, I'm available more often during the day, but I'll be starting a new job soon and don't know what my hours will be yet. So I can say yes now for Saturday, but things may change. |

Weekdays will likely work better for me, at least for this week, but I'll go with the consensus and see if I'm free for whatever day we choose. Right now I have all the time in the world, but a week from now things could be very different lol. |

Finally received my start date at the new job and I'll be available for the draft. Will we be using an off-site chat room? I've used Chatstep in the past and it's worked great, but seems the site doesn't exist anymore (Chatzy seems to be a good alternative).

^Good question. I had considered using the group PM like Sharbs did last year, buuut seeing how insanely easy Chatzy is to navigate, I've decided just to use it instead. Already have the room set up so I'm just going to send out a group PM with the URL on Thursday and give everyone like a 30-minute window to drift in. I'd like to start on time though, because I know some people's schedules are tight. We're pretty much set |
