Where the hell does Bateman find the time? Two series handling acting/producing/directing in both? Fucking hell, mate.
Looks interesting... hope they don't screw the pooch with the supernatural elements.

I've not read the novel precisely because of the announcement of the series. It looks very promising. A murderer's row of an ensemble.

I didn't really like the novel (not the second half of it anyway) but this trailer seems very promising...

Thought the premiere was pretty fantastic. I dug the grimy look to it and score too. Bateman did a good job directing the 1st episode. Looking forward to next week's episode!

Guys, this is Ben Mendelsohn's True Detective. Jason Bateman already deserves the Directing Emmy. Julianne Nicholson and Bill Camp are wonderful in it.

I've always ben meh regarding Mendelsohn but he is doing great work here. I was wondering "who's directing this?" and then roll the credits....Bateman. Damn he's good along with that creepy score. Agreed about Nicholson and Camp. Cant wait till Erivo shows up.

First two eps are exceptionally well made - very atmospheric and with great use of single set-ups. Also interestingly structured where it's almost imperceptibly non-linear though it functions linearly - tricky and could fuzz things up later on. Jason Bateman has what might be the best acted scene of his career here - about Mendelsohn's son - and after this, Ozark, the Gift, shouldn't be underestimated as a dramatic actor. Hooked so far but slightly worried about how things may turn out..... Side note - anybody else go to Richard Price's (showrunner/writer for this) IMDb page an absurd amount bc they cannot believe their eyes. Sea of Love AND Life Lessons in the same year!!!!?

Yeah, I have. First half of it was great but in the second half everything seemed to happen very conveniently. Again, that's just me. I just sense a silly explanation will cause this whole thing to go south...quick. sometimes supernatural explanations just come off silly. That is what caused US to be silly at end.
