2001, which is engrossing and captivating for the most part. While I do like Solaris, there were some areas of it that I just didn't resonate with.

Solaris is a wonderful movie, thematically it's at least as interesting if not much more so, but its approach is the difference maker for me. It's far too reliant upon communication of ideas directly through dialogue for me to put it on a par with Kubrick's movie.

2001 is my favorite movie, so it. Solaris is good too.
