I love Viola but I think Regina King would have been a better choice.

It's like they just cast the first black actress that they could think of. They don't look alike, sound alike, literally nothing about Viola Davis screams Michelle Obama. I mean has she ever even smiled in a movie????

I mean has she ever even smiled in a movie???? Well, that's one thing they have in common: Neither of them has ever smiled in a movie!!

Gena Rowlands won an Emmy for playing Ford in the 80s. Have you seen this one? It’s good!

Gillian Anderson really trying to put unattractive actresses out of work, huh! Thatcher and now Eleanor Roosevelt have recieved the mother of all glow-ups with Anderson playing them.

Gillian Anderson out here putting another notch on her belt, and I think she's dynamite casting as Eleanor.

Gillian Anderson out here putting another notch on her belt, and I think she's dynamite casting as Eleanor. Eleanor was one of the homeliest looking women around. No doubt they can "ugly" up Anderson to play her, but honestly, there are probably a thousand actresses more physically suited to play her, who could really use a gig like this. It's very "hollywood" casting, and far from ideal. I like Anderson a lot as an actress, but I wish they didn't cast some MILF to play E. Roosevelt. What hope for is there average looking actresses if even the hot sex symbol type actresses are hoovering up the roles that should demand a lesser degree of physical attractiveness?

I'm not talking specifically about looks (because obviously, Eleanor Roosevelt wasn't exactly a swimsuit model), but I'm talking about presence, to be able to evoke the wisdom and resilience of one of the foremost First Ladies.

Yeah, I'd still rather they cast Frances McDormand or someone more physically suited to the role. Looks don't always matter, but I feel it'll be a real distraction here, because she is the last person I picture in my head when thinking Eleanor Roosevelt (either Anderson will look too good, or it'll be too obvious that they are trying to make her look a lot less hot with make-up..Then you end up focusing more on the make-up than the acting).

Frances McDormand is my personal dream casting for Grace Coolidge.
