It legitimately might give 2017 a run for its money. David is one of the best characters the show has ever had, and may even eclipse Luke 1.0. I'm loving that most of the characters are here to play, and that we have some exciting rivalries building.

stephen Thoughts on where we are after the merge episode? Luke and David are running circles around the contenders. That psych-out of Daisy to burn the idol was masterful. Yeah, the contenders are in trouble going forward. I think that if I had to rate the top three by winner equity:
1. Pia. Feels like the sort of stealth champ that slips under the radar till the end and winds up winning. 2. Luke. Everyone voted out has sung his praises, and he has a massive meatshield in David. He's basically playing Jericho's game, and I am loving it. 3. Baden. A surprising challenge beast whose got a narrative building of being underestimated. He's the odds-on contender favorite for me.
I can't see Dave or Harry making it to the end, as they've already been flagged as huge targets, but I do hope they go further into the game. The Harry/Janine storyline still feels like it's got juice; I expect Janine will rally Harry to her side against David.
Shaun will go down the second he loses immunity, and Daisy is isolating herself. John will go down sometime mid-merge, probably. Janine's too much of a figurehead, but I see her as getting somewhere into the F4, but as she doesn't need the money, she'll likely lose to someone who does. Abbey is a possible F2 partner, but I can see her losing to a scrappier "gamer" like Pia or Baden.

Also like how you just didn't mention Simon I low-key think Simon is amazing TV. His deadpan nature is very reminiscent of Commando Steve, who was another character I loved for the same reason.

Just finished catching up to the latest episodes. Sooo much better binge watching these shows from the beginning until the last episodes of the season. And thank you players for that fantastic blindside of David. I never liked him from Day 1 but he was a brilliant manipulator who was also full of himself to the teeth. It made my night to see the look on his face when he realized his game was ovah. I do hope that Harry and Luke can join up to dethrone Janine. That would be another great blindside. Fantastic season!

Sad to see Davey's gravy train come to an end, honestly. What an absolutely hilarious, over the top, mustache-twirling villain to watch. One for the books. Such an amazing blindside.

Not as great as last week's run, but still excellent TV that sets up the endgame marvelously. We lose Daisy (a great character, not-so-great player) and Simon (who I still really enjoyed for his low-key presence, which came off almost wholesome), which would seem not to change the status quo much, but all of a sudden, Janine/Pia are on the back foot and the Contenders have a chance. I think that next week will see the Harry/Janine storyline pay off. I think Dirty Harry finally guns down the Godmother, but then gets taken down right after. Luke gets knocked off at F4, Baden goes at F3, and the F2 is Pia and Abbey, where Pia wins over Abbey.

Janine was so sure that she had a solid 5 not taking into consideration that Abbey already flipped on The Champions early on so why wouldn't she do that again? Simon became a huge physical threat after Shawn and David left so him being given the boot wasn't a shock. I too liked Daisy but she fucked up royally with the tribe switch up and she alligned with master manipulator David. And at the time The Contenders had the numbers!!!! ugh. I do hope that Harry takes down Janine but I'd like to see him go a little further. He's grown on me and he definitely has had to struggle the most to keep hiimself from being sent home. How he won those girls over after the "fake baby" scam is pretty impressive. Dirty Harry indeed.

How he won those girls over after the "fake baby" scam is pretty impressive. Dirty Harry indeed. I think Janine has set herself up nicely as the major antagonist of the season: not in terms of villainy, but that she is the final hurdle that the ultimate winner will have to overcome. Janine, I think, beats everyone but Luke at the end, as her stranglehold on the game has left everyone impressed by her. Pia is clinging to her because she knows that as long as Janine is in the game, she will always be the bigger target (even though they've taken potshots at Pia in hopes of weakening Janine). I think what will be seen as the "winning" move is Pia flipping on Janine with Dirty Harry, ousting her from the game, and then immediately flipping back against Harry. By that point, Luke and Baden are a tight duo against Pia and Abbey, and Luke immediately becomes the biggest threat at F2. Take him out (maybe by fire; what if Pia beats Luke in fire?!), and then you realize that Baden (as the last Contender) is much more of a threat than Abbey in front of the jury.

God bless Dirty Harry.
Luke is obviously a legend, and that last move certainly consecrated himself as an elite player. Still, can't help but root for the Ice Cream Man.

In order of who I want to win from most to least:
1. Luke 2. Harry 3. Pia 4. Baden
If Luke somehow pulls this off, it has to be one of the best winning games of all time right?

In order of who I want to win from most to least: 1. Luke 2. Harry 3. Pia 4. Baden If Luke somehow pulls this off, it has to be one of the best winning games of all time right? I'd say it would be. He was at a marked disadvantage for being the sole returning player and by rights should've been eliminated early just because of that, as his method of gameplay makes him an extremely dangerous person to keep around, and he wound up in a huge numbers deficit in the tribe swap . . . and he still survived. That 2-1-1 play to oust Abbey was *chef's kiss*
That said, I still would rather see Harry win it over him. Luke's a great character and has an amazing story, but Harry had arguably more to contend with and has been on the bottom and kept cockroaching his way to the end magnificently. Dirty Harry Houdini, indeed.
