SCHOOL SHOOTING IN UVALDE TEXAS.  15 DEAD CURRENTLY.

So we are in the bad place. Ugh. There are days when I feel as though we are legit in hell. The news is reporting that 18 children and 2 adults have been killed. Rip to the victims. This is just too much.

They are reporting that he was 18, he shot his grandmother so you know he had issues with his family if he shot his grandmother. She is still alive, by the way.

This song by grandson (one of my favorite artists) was made 4 years ago. Things haven't changed one bit.

Even if Congress were somehow able to pass common sense gun legislation.... do you not think this Supreme Court would simply nullify it?

Jesus, all those children. They said as soon as he turned 18, the very first thing he did was purchase assault rifles. So far I haven't seen a picture of him and I think that's a good thing. I really believe the media should minimize making mass shooters a focal point in terms of the amount of visibility they give them in their coverage when these tragedies happen. Take down their live streams (which they had been actively doing for the Buffalo shooter) and stop posting their photographs so prominently on front pages. It might not be the only motive, but these people tend to worship previous shooters and inspire more. The victims should be on display more. That's all.

Could’ve maybe been avoided if the fbi was actually doing its fucking job instead of investigating parents as domestic terrorists for having the audacity to speak at school board meetings or some Muslims who they thought were plotting to assassinate dubya but unfortunately were never actually gonna come within a sniff of pulling it off

yeah like that kind of stunt is going to work in Texas where they like their guns more than fucking their cousins. Abbott's holier-than-thou thoughts and prayers are a winning strategy in a state that thinks the solution is always to throw more guns at the situation. How dare Beto make this about politics. How dare he talk about policy and point fingers. These people are GRIEVING. And so they grieve and put their flags at half-mast for a few days and then wash their hands of it and nothing fucking changes and two months from now more kids will be dead. Fuck that whole mess of a state. US should cecede from Texas and stop welfare-checking their clusterfuck of a government.

I mean, the larger problem is also that localized regulation or even more universal common sense regulation is always going to be a band-aid solution until America stops being a gun culture and America is probably always going to be a gun culture. Guns are more important than public safety. Individual choice is more important than everything else... unless you're pregnant.
