I’m so mad Roma didn’t won the sound categories, it’s doing something that not even the Avengers movies had the balls to do, wtf
It’s a bitter ending for The Favorite, while I was voting, it crossed my mind that the split could happen, but is Collette, who really raised her game last year.
Still haven’t seen The Mercy but definitely was one of Weisz best years of her career.
If editing means to eliminate all the interesting parts of a film, then fine, worthy winner 😎
And again, what’s so worthy of The Favourite production design ? They just cleaned the place. Weird choice.
Glad Cold War and Burning got something ❤️

ohhhhh my god, now that i'm finally here. these picks. wow. i like almost all of them. some amazing surprises and a few real shocks (most pleasant, some not). - performer of the year: YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT. Weisz = god, and 2018 was her year - animated film: Spidey was such a beautiful, amazing, wonderful surprise. glad to have participated in its victory tonight - documentary: because of course that won. like Martin Stett , i didn't feel the love. would have preferred shirkers or minding the gap - foreign language film: really thought burning would take this. oh well, y'all are sleeping on a masterpiece but OK. I'll take the Yeun win. If Roma was going to win anything it should have been for sound mixing - score: YES!!! i've been a harsh critic of first man but the score is one of the best of the decade easily. big fan of the sound editing win too, not so much sound mixing (roma was robbed af there) but it is what it is - original song: color me shocked there are still people who aren't sick of "shallow." but i guess i still like "let it go" so i'm not one to talk - editing: wasn't a fan of YWNRH but if it had to win for something, it should be for editing. shit was crisp. - choreography: obvious pick. i'm just shocked it wasn't more dominant. there is no real competition to the choreography in fallout. it was on another level completely - makeup: tilda swinton's old man makeup alone would have justified this victory. the only right choice - cinematography: cold war was fucking stunning and one of the prettiest movies i've ever seen. every single frame is a work of art. great choice - supporting actress: a shame Ando couldn't pull it out but at least erivo didn't win. debicki is a fine choice but any win for widows does feel a bit dirty - supporting actor: sexiest, coolest, scariest motherfucker of 2018. yeun is an overwhelming antagonistic presence in that film and he seemingly accomplishes it by doing very little. masterful & disturbing work. - actress: ...what? i'm with ibbi, there must've been some vote splitting there because i think we all thought colman had this in the bag. shocked (and a bit bummed) that collette came from behind like that. this should have been queen anne's. - best actor: ooooohhhhhh shit! ernst toller was the role of a lifetime for hawke. he has never and probably will never be better than he was here. brilliant performance and the absolute best choice. picture and director we all saw coming. love the yorgos pic though thanks Viced , DeepArcher and Sharbs for running this thing, and for everyone who voted. Can't wait for next year!

Great job, thank you!
Would be very curious to see how we'd vote if you were to do a run-off poll between the top 2 nominees in categories without a majority win (actress, supporting actor, etc)...

Most of the winners were expected, though the editing and acting wins were all really inspired. Thanks guys for putting this together.

Deserved wins for Lanthimos and the Favourite but Coleman should have also won...

Some thoughts - First Man winning score. MAR didn't do the same mistake as The Academy. - Fallout rightfully won choreography. - Vice should've won makeup instead of Suspiria. - The Favourite is a worthy winner but Black Panther should've won production design. - Surprised that Cold War won cinematography instead of Roma. No complaints though. Both are great. - Glad The Favourite won original screenplay instead of First Reformed. - I don't mind Debicki winning but Cynthia Erivo should've won. - Ethan Hawke - Lanthimos over Cuaron? - I'm okay with The Favourite winning BP.

So overall thoughts with a bit of time passed...I can't comment on Mission: Impossible -- Fallout win, but it seems universally loved, and I only saw one of the doc contenders, so I'll leave that to one side. I think we did a pretty decent job here folks. The only wins I outright dislike are Supporting Actor, Soundtrack and Song, and the rest are good, great or inspired choices. Adapted Screenplay and the sorta surprise with Toni Collette in Actress are the best wins of the bunch.
