ATP 2022 FinalsUm, Djokovic played a 3 hour match - wtf - in a match that didn't matter but was awesome 6-3, 6-7, 7-6 over Medvedev....he may die tomorrow ........or lose At one point it looked like Djokovic was having a stroke - or something - seriously - with his hand shaking and stuff in his chair - not kidding. He was almost at the point of fainting..... Also, I don't care if he wins this - he is the GOAT, he is the best all surfaces player of all time, pacinoyes rises.......pffft.... Medvedev and Djokovic have great matches.......in about 12 months Medvedev may overtake him and win these matchups more tbh .....that hand shaking stuff was scary......

ATP Finals 2022GOATovic wins his 6th ATP Final title tying Federer for the record - Nadal has 0 .......um.........but that's only because it is not played on Clay, and he's NOT The GOAT on any other surface besides Clay? - get it? - and why do you even bother looking here anyway ffs Biggest 1st place prize money ever in a tennis tournament 4,740,300 US dollars - and he goes 5-0 at 35 years of age - I'll update some career stats later probably ....he extends his ATP 1000 Titles and Major Championships Overall Titles records... Were you not entertained MAR?

The state of the active GOATs at the end of 2022 - obviously Djokovic leading in almost everything and what he's not leading in.......he will blow past Baldal in 2023.........AO23 is in ~ 6 weeks and we'll update this thread here or in one of the pre AO tournaments in early January

Cam Williams Top Player Picks for 2023 - He picks Swiatek staying #1 for the females and Djokovic regaining number 1 for the men obviously - this is such a huge year for Djokovic in many ways besides GS titles too. What female is going to win AO 23 btw with Barty retired? Djokovic may get to 400 weeks number 1 at some point by end of year into 2024 - depending when he takes over #1 - which will be genuinely shocking and put some more distance between him and Federer and he's close already to doubling Nadal anyway - Steffi Graff had 377 weeks btw and that will fall certainly - the only male or female to break 400 weeks - possiblyWeeks at number 1 career - Men1 Novak Djokovic (SRB) 373 2 Roger Federer (SUI) 310 3 Pete Sampras (USA) 286 4 Ivan Lendl (TCH) 270 5 Jimmy Connors (USA) 268 6 Rafael Nadal (ESP) 209

Nadal just isn't the same imo - lost his last match of the year to Cam Norrie today - and is starting to get a little annoyed about those "Are you going to retire?" questions because he looks like a guy who might retire tbh although he laughs it off ......never bounced back after he withdrew from Wimbledon 22.......I'm not even saying he's hurt - I'm just saying he's been verrrrrrrrry beatable for 7 months going into AO 23 now ..........if he can somehow go deep at Australia it will be one of his most amazing recent accomplishments tbh....I still say he won't win the French this year but we'll see.....he's surprised us before but now he's approachng 37
Djoko plays Adelaide starting tomorrow - might be tough to win it but he's the #1 seed....Nadal is sitting that tournament out......

Alex de Minaur delivered a stunning performance under the lights in Sydney Monday when he overcame World No. 2 Rafael Nadal 3-6, 6-1, 7-5

Look man, I don't care if you're a Republican Asshat or a Regressive Democrat, I don't care if you like the walking zombie in the White House or not ........or if you are a Nadal fan - though let's face it - being a Nadal fan is kind of pathetic these days anyway - isn't it? If this isn't overturned in 2 months - it will mean that Djokovic could play tennis in China ffs right now - but not in America.......yeah, ok......makes perfect sense ........embarrasing stuff......sub-Canada level ........this is like "I'mmina be rooting for Michelle Yeoh" level of batshit cringe

Djokovic is ....... vileThe GOAT gets into the semis today at Adelaide which has been alot of fun to watch - plays Medvedev tomorrow and the last time he played Medvedev he almost passed out ffs......maybe the best rivalry in tennis now? Always competetive .....and these guys could meet before the finals in this month's AO 23 too Djokovic has won the last 3 since the USO 21 Finals, 8-4 career Djoko but Medvedev on hard court is always a threat and he makes you play extra shots....and like I said he reveals a lot of Djoko's weakness in term of getting fatigued lately ......

Alcaraz - world #1 - is OUT of AO23
This helps Djokovic very much and gets him up a spot which maybe makes his draw likely much easier and Nadal also - Djoko will be #4 and Nadal will be #1
This is pretty huge tbh

Djokovic getting a medical time-out atm for a possible hamstring injury - could be huge - could affect his AO appearance too - that's all Nadal would need - yikes - Djoko up 5-2 in the 1st.......we shall see...... THe GOAT discusses his injury and says he "should" be ok to play in tomorrow's final - we'll see........he should withdraw if it could get worse and hurt AO 23 - I know he wants to win everything but there's no real "benefit" to playing tomorrow unless he wants to send a message .......which has its purposes - ever see my posting history? ...............He just beat his main hard court rival on 1 leg.........GTFO.......if Covid couldn't stop him, can a hamstring? Yet another record set today....you're witnessing one of the great sports stories of our time...........just sayin'.........
Career matches Played Against Top 10 Players, and win percentage -
Djokovic - 348 (70% win percentage) Federer - 347 (65%) Nadal - 288 (64%)

Korda wins 7-6 in the 1st set.........GOAT definitely looks significantly affected by his hamstring today, slow and little backhand power - a possible AO 23 disaster is looming next week.......maybe it'll loosen up...... or maybe not..... he should probably retire today......priorities, dude....... pacinoyes sinking at the potential catastrophe in a week ......

Djokovic is ...... vile92 career ATP title wins now tying Nadal - soon to surpass him for good ..... and possibly catch Federer's 103 among the Big 3 ...........34 straight wins in Australia going back to 2018 .........78-3 in Australia since 2010 ......hamstring seemed quite sore but not enough for Korda to actually win .......he's won 5 of his last 6 tournaments now - 2 of which Nadal played btw....
If Djokovic wins the Australian Open now - with his win today in Adelaide, he will return to world No.1 - and extend his career male record of 373 weeks - unless Casper Ruud wins in Auckland and makes the final at the Australian Open, where he has never progressed beyond the fourth roundOn 1 leg.......still not vaccinated.......very problematic.....still the GOAT.......duh......

Ok, last post unless we get some news before AO 23 - but this is what he did yesterday: * Fought off a Champonship Point to win his 92 career match - already tying Nadal who once lead that match-up 17 to 0 * Came back from a set down * On 1 leg....... * Left the court almost naked after signing his clothes and tossing them to the crowd (left in only underwear and socks) * Threw his agent (?) out of his box - yelling in Italian, I think (?!?) - for talking on his cell phone instead of cheering him - though his brother leaves too.... immediately after losing the 1st set * Had a red carpet rolled out for him when he touched down in Melbourne for the 1st time in a year - one year after being detained and eventully deported for political bullshittery Legend

If you think I'm going to be (more) annoying if Djoko actually wins AO 23 - and he may not - it's not Wimbledon after all, is it? - trust me, I won't be nearly as annoying as the Nadal fans who will flood this thread - if he loses - and say Djokovic will now never win another Grand Slam again!......it's a marathon people not a sprint ffs Injury status below ...........which is the best chance to beat him tbh.......... in addition to maybe a gun ......or win by deportation:

Kyrgios withdraws which makes Djokovic's generous draw even more generous ....... not "easy" but kind of easier now... Nadal up a set, but down 2 breaks now in the 2nd against Draper with a much tougher draw btw....plot thickens Edit: Nadal wins in 4 sets - Draper had bad cramps after winning the 2nd set ......Medvedev looking like a machine today in his 1st round - his draw is similarly rough and in the same half as Nadal

One note just in case Djokovic loses on Sunday - which he might tbh - yet another record that he will break with every Final he adds........said this before - even if he has to wait a few months for his 22nd.......he's piling all the numbers in his favor in the meantime...... This is his 33rd Grand Slam final ...........Federer 31.....Nadal .......30.This is an astonishing number given he missed 4 tournaments due to disqualification, cancellation or COVID not injury.......Federer of course is retired and Nadal is getting awfully close to retirement too - imo. - Nadal's number is typically misleading and skewed btw - 14 for 14 on Clay (of course )......almost half his total

I'll update this thread with some amazing stats later - because today is a historic day...........but.........first: to correct an idiotic post in this thread by an actual person prone to idiocy - just 7 months ago (!):"Another sporting icon, track and field legend Michael Johnson has this to say "to anyone ridiculous enough to compare Djokovic's ignorant, dangerous anti-vaxx, anti-science positions to Muhammad Ali's civil rights battles"There was nothing "ridiculous, ignorant or dangerous" about what Djokovic did at all and while his actions don't equate with Ali - who is a genuine hero where Djokovic is not as much of one - to millions he kind of is actually........ their own kind of hero. Like Ali - Djokovic took a stand, stuck to his principles - and in the long run won........also like Ali, he actually is the GOAT in his sport and what happened to him (or what he did to himself) is as big a part of his legend as Ali's story was....... don't be on the wrong side of history MAR ......2 things can be "somewhat alike" without being exactly alike “He's the greatest that has ever held a tennis racket,” Tsitsipas said. Djokovic stretched his unbeaten streak in Melbourne to 28 matches, the longest run at the tournament for a man in the Open era, which dates to 1968.

Updated titles below - Djokovic really starting to pull away - and also becomes the worlds number 1 as of today - extending his own record to 374+ overall weeks (Federer is 2nd @ 310, Nadal @ 209).....meet the new boss........same as the old boss......
