Djoko gets a walk over due to an ill Andy Murray........on to the quarters
One court wonder / Lucifer won a really good 3 set match over Goffin after winning the 1st .....looked a bit tired ........but great at times ........especially at the start.......on to quarters also for the Anti-Christ
Good vs. Evil would play in the Semi round if they get there
6-3 ; 5-7; 7-6

Alcaraz would have to absolutely one hundred percent wet the bed to lose to Nadal based on today. Possible, I guess. Would/will be interesting to see how the crowd would be.
The kid could beat both the old bastards on back-to-back days, though Djokovic could also eat his serve for breakfast if he's playing well.

A match like the Goffin one is actually good for him, as long as he isn't carrying an injury. Lots of court time to help him shake off the rust. Nadal often raises his level after matches like this, especially against more dangerous opponents. Nadal could lose in the next round, but I don't think it would be because Goffin took him to the limit.

Maybe if this was a major, but not when he has to play back to back days, and will now be playing a guy (I'm assuming Norrie is going to bend over like the good brit he is) about 5 times as good as the ghost of David Goffin. Nadal has never really needed time to work off rust, as he proved at the beginning of this year, and the more energy he wastes getting into epic wars with has beens, the less he's going to have for the serious stuff. And the way he was serving today made me think the injury that forced him out is definitely not 100% behind him. If this tournament wasn't in Spain he probably wouldn't have even played it.

Djoko looking Beast Mode again today over Hurkacz in 2 sets. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty sure he will lose to Lucifuge or Baby Lucifuge who play later, when Darkness falls over the Light of God-fearing people........um, but today he was Covid-Free, and not banned by a government that doesn't believe in body autonomy! - and sex-yyyyyyyyyy af (no homo, not that there's anything wrong with that ). It was like seeing the GOAT before he has the most Grand Slam titles, which ...he will.......it was sort of like The Day Before The Day The Earth Stood Still. 6-3, 6-4

Darkness has indeed fallen on the top half of the draw.

Alcaraz is physically stronger, but I think Djokovic is still smarter. Great game anyway.
Am I the only one thinking Alcaraz 's right arm is too much bigger than the left one? I mean, such a young guy could have spinal issues in the long term.

LOL! The gloating over Alcaraz beating Nadal yesterday looks pretty fucking silly now. Guess Alcaraz moves over Djokovic in the "GOAT rankings" Anyway, as I've been saying on this thread for awhile (I believe I was the first person to talk about him on this thread), Alcaraz is the real deal, the next GOAT level player, and someone who can (barring a major injury or complete loss of motivation) challenge the records of the Big 3. He has a very good chance of winning a slam this year, though it'll be interesting to see if Best Of 3 suits him more than Best Of 5, which could be a big factor in how many slams he goes on to win. If he can beat Nadal and Djokovic consistently in slams, then we will be witnessing a true changing of the guard. Which should have happened years ago to be honest.

Next up for these guys is Rome - Djoko and Satan could meet in the semis again - Djoko is #1, Lucifuge is #3...........Alcaraz in the seperate batch The next step for Alcaraz is to beat one of them (or both) in 5 sets ........in the French........

Well, if you're comparing his smarts, a couple of days after turning 19, to one of the most decorated players in the sports history, that's pretty impressive! He's plenty smart too. The way he whipped out that kicker serve out wide in the second and third set to nullify Novak pouncing all over him on return the way he did in the first was great. In the first set Novak was also tossing moonballs up at him and Alcaraz just couldn't handle them, he kept hitting everything long, so after that when Novak hit the moonball the kid just gave him one back, and he couldn't handle it either was beautifully played tactically. Also, I can't say I've noticed about his arm, but people used to say the same thing about Nadal's left, and his spine has held up okay (the rest of him maybe not so much)

ibbi Well, Alcaraz is my son's age, and I'd be concerned about correcting his asymmetry... Let's not forget Nadal is the same height, but 13 kilos heavier than Alcaraz. A stronger body.

Alcaraz is not the same height as Nadal (who is 6'1). He's been pictured next to Nadal many times, and he looks at least 2 inches shorter, so He's probably 5'11 at most. I think his people probably list him as a 6 footer, since it's perceived that being that height or over is ideal for major champions and don't want to give opponents confidence when facing himthat he's undersized ans should be more beatable. Just a theory anyway.
It'll be fascinating to see how Alcaraz deals with being a hunted man though. Players will see him as a threat and train specifically to beat him (as Nadal did for Federer and as Djokovic did for Nadal, though they all managed to achieve similar levels of success). While he looks like he could be the future of men's tennis right now, it's just as possible that there are a couple of "Alcaraz Killers" in his generation or a few years older, who could stop him from winning as much as people are presuming he will.

^ The Internet says both Alcaraz and Nadal are 185 centimetres. I didn't measure them in the flesh though.

Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the sex-aaaaaaaaaaayist of them all? Djokovic looking like a strong Sexy Beast, with several deep guttural moans (um) - and a posture that was stiff, hard and well you get the idea with plenty of his peak form BDE ....6-3, 6-2........over Karatsev. I know, I know - he'll be down 2 grand slams to the Walking Wounded / Incubus soon - but it's exactly that sort of sexual fervor that's gonna sneak up on all y'all and before you know it, he'll be at 22 slams won't he? ........leaving you both attracted and repulsed by his........return of serve.........and by then it's just a matter when exactly that GS record is his for the taking and when that happens ..........can your wife be far behind?

Small endowed, GOAT pretender Satan loses today - is it just me or does this guy only go far in tournaments Djoko (who won today) is legally restricted from playing in at all? Um Anyhoo - maybe a French Open rematch - they haven't met since then in 2021 and that will be the One Court Wonder's turf with his great opportunity to stretch it to 2 GS over him and get his revenge .......before the Djoko tsunami overwhelms him .........because he ain't winning Wimbledon or the US Open is he? Possible huge changing of the guard moment this year with Djoko defending champ, Satan the likely 2022 favorite - because, oh yeah...clay - and at least 3 young bucks who would be credible contenders......including but not limited to Alcaraz of course Nadal today v. Shapovalov 1-6; 7-5; 6-2 Djoko today v. Wawrinka 6-2; 6-2

Djoko 7-5, 7-6 over FAA in a good match at Rome so into the semis - he was old Djoko level in the 2nd set tie break - the closest he's been to his peak form in 2022. Tsitsipas and Zverev licking their chops to beat him in another final though ....Djoko's lost the last 3 finals he's made it to Medvedev (US Open) and Alcaraz (Madrid) and Rublev (Belgrade). Wtf, loser. Locks up world number 1 ranking for another week at least so even if Medvedev passes him next week he'll still be number 1 at the French (Nadal gets a tough 5 seed in the French if he plays btw because Tsitsipas is now world number 4). I think he should be approaching passing Steffi Graf's overall weeks at number 1 record of 377 weeks..........Djoko is like at 369-370? He is going to obliterate this record obviously down the road

Tsitsipas was booed today because he wanted to play without waiting for doctors to help an old man attending the game who had to be taken to the hospital. The rules say you can't play while someone needs medical assistance.

Tsitsipas over Zerev he may be the stealth threat on clay where everyone is looking @ GOATs and Alcaraz : 4-6; 6-3; 6-3
Djoko will be going for some big achievements today later and extending his already record smashing numbers in the 1st caregory:
MOST CAREER TOP 10 WINS IN ATP RANKINGS HISTORY (since 1973):
230: Novak Djokovic (230-106) 224: Roger Federer (224-123) 181: Rafael Nadal (181-100) 166: Ivan Lendl (166-92) 128: John McEnroe (128-94)
CAREER WINS FOR A MAN IN OPEN ERA (tour-level):
1,274: Jimmy Connors (1,274-283) 1,251: Roger Federer (1,251-275) 1,068: Ivan Lendl (1,068-242) 1,051: Rafael Nadal (1,051-212) 999: Novak Djokovic (999-203)

Would place him 2nd or 3rd atm in the French behind Mr. Claymation if he can walk (pobrecita ), and maybe Tsitsipas if he can step up..........Alcaraz of course too, though 5 sets in the French I think is his big hurdle to overcome. Alcaraz wins the French it would be seismic.........
