Awwwww.........the big softie is making me all weepy and stuff - from his Instagram - the GOAT: What an amazing season this has been. Forever grateful to my wife for being the best mother I could ask for to kids, while I was making history of the sport. Her support and love that I have been feeling from my family made this historic season possible. I would like to congratulate and thank my team for their dedication and efforts. Another very successful year for the team in the books. We will remember this one forever. So many memorable moments that sent chills down our spine. Journey continues in 2024. Looking forward to what’s coming up. Onwards and upwards 🙌

Novak Djokovic is the 2023 ITF World Champion again (men's singles)
It's the 8th time for him, which is a record (Sampras has 6)

Djokovic said this today at an exhibition in Dubai......Nadal returns in Brisbane Australia in a few days........the head to head record is 30-29 Djokovic......maybe their final match(es) in 2024........... "I always expect him (Rafael Nadal) to give the best of himself. Some have often stated that he has been close to the end, as they have done for me.
But we proved them wrong.
He is not the type to come back to the circuit just to play, let's say, at an average level, to play a few games. He wants to win titles, he wants to be the best, that's why he is what he is: a legend of our sport.
I am sure that his training and preparations are done with the intention of winning a Grand Slam”

Djokovic hilariously yesterday speaks Chinese (Mandarin?) while his mixed doubles partner Olga Danilovic looks at him like Wtf - where did you learn that from ........not only the GOAT, but the smartest athlete maybe ? (he speaks 11 languages) and the funniest too........what makes this so great is he has known Olga her whole life - she's 22 now - and she is still shocked........

What an asshole ....so says the world #642 ******************* Rafa Nadal has dismissed talks of Novak Djokovic being considered the greatest of all time (GOAT), insisting that Roger Federer deserves top billing. Djokovic holds all the numerical records over Federer and Nadal, including most majors and most weeks spent at No.1 but the Spaniard argues that the greater tennis player comes down to how that player makes you feel and that is why he believes the Swiss maestro is the best to ever do it."Since I have a memory of tennis, (Federer) is the player who has impressed me the most, the one who has entertained me the most, the one who has moved me the most," Nadal said in an interview with El Pais. "Watching Federer play has moved me more than Djokovic, and in the end, tennis is about emotion. It's the emotion that draws you to it." Nadal said there are "several factors" that need to be weighed up in the GOAT debate, and statistics play just a minor factor. "Some I won't tell you because it's difficult for me, it's not my place to comment on them, but in terms of tennis, it's clear," Nadal said. "It's a combination of very radical styles. Federer was perfection in terms of aesthetics, elegance and technique. I have very good technique, but technique is not the same as aesthetics. They are two different things. He had incredible technique, doing things beautifully with impressive elegance. "We have all reinvented ourselves (and) that's why there has been this intense rivalry. We always surprised each other. Djokovic, as well, but with a difference compared to the two of us. He hasn't needed to evolve (his style) as much as we have. He hasn't suffered as many injuries. The only thing that has demanded him to improve his game has been his rivals, not physical issues. That's a difference." Djokovic has won a record 24 singles grand slam titles ahead of Nadal (22) and Federer (20).

Nadal in Brisbane - medical timeout in the 3rd set but he might have just been tired and he loses in the 3rd singles match of his comeback to an unranked in this tournament player Jordan Thompson who wins it: 5-7; 7-6; 6-3 Djokovic - the GOAT btw - also has an injury - to his wrist - but I'm guessing he'll be in better shape than Nadal for the Australian Open 2024 in mid-January .......but you never know.....maybe this years AO is where these old dudes hobble off the court early Nadal had a match point in the 2nd set set - ah well, tough break, way it goes........not the first time he's disappointed his misguided, delusional fans ammiright?

The latest on Nadal and The GOAT - if Djokovic - can't shake this wrist injury who wins AO 24? Sinner? Alcaraz?Nadal:Pau Ferragut Massanet @pauferragut #Nadal and his team have moved from Brisbane to Melbourne few hours ago. The plan to prepare the #AusOpen during next week is going ahead, but keeping an eye out to their sensations on the left hip. No one knows better his own body than himself. Now it's time to wait patiently. Djokovic's coach Goran Ivanisevic"There is that problem with the wrist, but the most important thing is that he will be ready in 10-11 days,” the 52-year-old Croatian said. “And we’ll have a few days of rest, so we’ll start training slowly. It’s not a big problem. We came here to play a few matches, that’s what he did. He played three good matches. Maybe today it wasn’t good in terms of results, but he was certainly a good preparation and that’s what he needed.”

We have another player who may win a slam - Jannik Sinner.......we have a player who may win a 2nd Slam - Danil Medvedev..........we have a female who won a 2nd Slam now Aryna Sabalenka........and we have Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz too........and we have 3 old GOATS who are either done (Federer), close to done (Nadal) and maybe now finally getting close(r) to the end (Djokovic) Thoughts on the new bosses? Anybody who can get to 10 Slams? Carlos Alcaraz has 2 and Iga has 4.........

Novak will be considered the GOAT, and not in some undeserved way, but not in a way that makes not providing the context with Nadal and Fed sensible. This commentator Hugh Clarke says alot of true things: hughclarke.substack.com/

This commentator Hugh Clarke says alot of true things: hughclarke.substack.com/A lot of course depend on where the totals end up......I am predictng Djokovic to win 2 of the next 3 slams........he may not -he didn't win his favorite one last month but if that happens..........that is 26 Slams........vs. 22 and 20 is a huge difference .........we'll see .......and that weeks at number 1 is arguably more impressive - especially if that gets to 450 weeks (411 atm)

This is NEW...... Nadal STILL forced to answer questions about Djokovic being the GOAT - and call him - publicly - the GOAT........ again - ...he just can't STFU and he can't answer it without sounding like a prick........ "I think he's a good person" - Oh Fnck Off.........I can't think of another sport like this where the press rubs one rivals face in it like they do to Nadal........ and Nadal could have swerved all of this but instead prolonged it ...... Rafael Nadal conceded some ground to a long-time opponent by admitting that Novak Djokovic is the 'greatest player in history'.
The Spaniard and the Serb have helped define tennis in the 21st century, winning 22 and 24 Grand Slam titles respectively.
Comparing between different styles and eras is always complicated but Nadal is happy to hail Djokovic as the greatest there has ever been.
Asked by MARCA if Djokovic, 36, was the 'best player in history', Nadal responded: 'The numbers say yes, for me yes.
'The image he projects is worse than he really is; I think he's a good person,' added Nadal.
