Not in a huge rush to be back to school in the fall, but I'm still really excited for autumn and the most wonderful time of the year. So much so, I made a preview for my annual 31 Days of Horror that I've been doing every October since 2013. Thought you guys might enjoy this and I'll be back in October for my daily entries.

how is this one of your best vids yet? Loved seeing Blackcoat's Daughter in there but I'm sorry to admit I didn't recognize most of these. Love following your entires though, and I always add a lot of stuff to my watchlist

Thanks for the compliment and for following my series every year!

That was better than more than half the trailers I've seen so far this year.

Always admired your work, especially the 31 Days of Horror. One of my favorite genres. Although I am surprised you never added Killer Party to any of the previous lists, it is a great horror film. Anyways keep up the great work & looking forward to the new list.

Not only do I love the Phibes films - if you have never seen them they open up a lot of fun angles in other films too. Not only are they quite funny but they are almost the quintessential examples of the "wounded romantic" Price character. In almost all his best stuff he's acting out of revenge or a deep hurt over a woman he loved (sometimes not even romantically but his sister or daughter) and that element is what makes him the Man. The way he plays that angle can go from tragic, to scary, to funny very quickly, almost illogically...... and another actor wouldn't be able to balance them or juggle all those plates and pivot from one to another.....he does it with great ease and did it very often too.

Fantastic choice to start off with! Might be my favorite Price horror along with Theatre of Blood. pacinoyes really nailed what makes his incomparable contributions to the genre so great, from the genuinely chilling to the tragic romanticism to the charming cheesiness. To this day, I still feel traumatized by the locust aftermath. Given my love for this one, I am a tad embarrassed to say I never sought out the sequel for some reason. Also, fuck yes, the 1st is here!

Wicked as hell. I hope the light shining off the bug resembling a skull-like face with a Price mustache was intentional.

I had no idea there were 2 more fans of Killer Party... along with Ugolin and myself. Can we get that # to 5 this year?? "You know what the biggest room of all is?... the room for improvement." How many horrors are this hilariously playful and tongue in cheek and chillingly scary too (that final shot!).... Love it.

When I was little pacinoyes, a little devil if you will - this version freaked me out because the original story which does not involve a war was sort of random and cruel to the family - it really seemed horrifying for them and still does when you read it. This version I think was one of the first things I had ever seen which shifted a story's plot so much - it was one of the first times I ever had to think about an adaptation at all - what did I like about the changes, what didn't I like, the difference between what you read and a movie. Like a lot of the best horror of yesteryear it completely is tapping into fears/horror of its time - this film works because of when it is set and it captures the 70s dread.
