RIP Franco
Oh honey, it's only a couple of days ago that I added Tea with Mussolini to my watchlist.

RIP!
Romeo and Juliet, Tea with Mussolini and most of all Jesus from Nazareth are my all time Zeffirelli favorites.

Such a talent. I adore Romeo & Juliet and Brother Sun, Sister Moon, and his versions of Jane Eyre and Hamlet were pretty good as well. He directed my favorite Jesus in Powell and put together a delicious ensemble with Tea with Mussolini. Rest in peace.

A shame. I've only seen Romeo and Juliet which was lovely and have long wanted to see the other stuff. Either way, thank you thank you thank you for making Olivia Hussey a thing.
Rest in peace, Mr. Zeffirelli.

His 1968 version of The Taming of The Shrew with Taylor & Burton is really delightful. He made his fair share of clunkers (Endless Love for example), but he's probably one of the better directors to tackle Shakespeare. 96 is a good year to go out on. RIP!!!
