Which of these popular sci-fi films of this decade do you prefer?
Arrival is my pick.
P.S.: Sorry for the grammatical error.

The Martian narrowly beats Interstellar for me. Still have yet to see Gravity.

Interstellar but Gravity is close. Both in my Top 25 of All Time.

Gravity Arrival The Martian Interstellar
I love the first two immensely, really dig The Martian despite it not really having much of a strong directorial voice (which shocks me, as it's Ridley!), and I think Interstellar is entertaining but very problematic. It's a shame, really; it has lofty ambition, a powerful leading performance, and amazing visuals to its credit . . . but the writing just lets it down. I actually think Arrival does what Interstellar set out to do and achieves it.

These are all kind of bad. Gravity, by far. Not a fan but Bullock's performance carries a very powerful emotional arc
If I were to rank them: Gravity 6 Interstellar 5 Arrival 5 The Martian 2

They're all flawed but Arrival wins for that amazing first half. There are some nice visuals in Gravity too.
The Martian is unforgivably dull for a movie that should feel, well, alien. And Interstellar is a self-help film.

Interstellar takes it easily, it has an almost novelistic approach that puts any other to shame, even with all its flaws, it's impressive. The Martian is good, a bit Big Bang Theory for my taste and quite mechanical but still entertaining. Arrival, love the first half. Gravity is obviously visually impressive but apart from that is totally boring, Clooney's ghost was the tip of the iceberg

1. Arrival 9.5/10 (emotional, sob-inducing, poignant, beautiful) 2. The Martian 9/10 (so much fun. Perfect entertainment. Thinking on it now I'd say 8/10 but I rated 9/10 after I saw it on IMDB) 3. Gravity 7/10 (It's fine. Kinda impressive on an IMAX screen, but purports to more profundity than it actually possesses. OK, but I wouldn't be bothered if I never rewatched it. In retrospect I'd probably give this 6.5/10... and it may be less if I had only ever seen it on a telly screen.) 4. Interstellar ... I actually rated it 7/10 when I first saw it on IMDB. But if I were rating it now, I'd maybe go 5/10. By which note (both 5/10 or 7/10 imply this) I am saying it has good qualities.. however I rewatched it recently & had forgotten JUST HOW ANNOYING IT IS!!! All that love guff. If you're going to use science in your film, MAKE IT MAKE SENSE AND BE LOGICAL YOU IDIOTS! LOVE IS NOT ANYTHING TO DO WITH SCIENCE. WE DO HAVE MINDS, US AUDIENCE YOU KNOW. STOP TREATING US LIKE IMBECILES AND STOP GIVNG POOR ANNE HATHAWAY THAT PANTALOONS PLOT TO TRY TO SELL.
Yup, Arrival is in my opinion everything Interstellar wishes it was but isn't at all.

Pretty significant gaps in quality between each of them.
Gravity is not sci-fi.

1) Arrival 2) Gravity 3) Interstellar 4) The Martian
I really like all of them, but Arrival is the only truly great one. Gravity gets way more flack than it deserves, seeing it in theatres was something else.

I give the edge to Arrival, though Gravity is really good stuff. The Martian is fun and Interstellar is shit.
