My favs not yet mentioned are Even Dwarfs Started Small and Why Does Herr R Run Amok as well as two that I know pacinoyes loves too - Husbands and La Rupture . Also another Bertolucci he did after The Conformist (but it premiered before) the profound and mysterious The Spider's Stratagem - there's a stream online in clear quality I could link you to. Lesser but interesting films: the rare and hilarious Every Home Should Have One starring Marty Feldman, the tense racial Tick Tick Tick , and The Honeymoon Killers that plays like a Cassavetes-meets-John Waters noir, slightly co-directed by Martin Scorsese!

I've only seen three films on the year, with the top being The Conformist which already made your list. So I'll recommend my #2 - Two Mules for Sister Sara. Not sure how I caught it, think while channel surfing many years ago (so it definitely needs a re-watch too), but it's an entertaining little Western with great performances from Shirley MacLaine and Clint Eastwood.

Claire's Knee is the best film of 1970 and a total masterwork so definitely get to that.
Ryan's Daughter is a must too. Truffaut's Bed and Board is excellent but watch it only if you've seen the other Antoine Doinel movies.
