Just finished it. 7.5-8/10 Nice little series with genuinely great performances from both the leads. Possibly my two favorites of the year and deserving of all the accolades (I don't wanna say Emmy's because they don't matter shit). It's a very sad story but still finds humor here and there which is very refreshing. Highly recommended. And lol @ that Marsden comment, cheesecake. You've got to see it to find out 😂
Watchable for the leads, they save the show with their chemistry, they bring the laughs and hit the bigger emotional scenes. Otherwise it's not well written, often unfunny, all of the side characters are one-note, all of them, and the clumsy narrative surprises have the whiff of soap opera. It's also not very well directed - uneven pacing per ep, too often dull, and other stuff like I never care about the 180-rule but it's just mind boggling how lazy some scenes are framed.
So the OP gave the impression this was a lesbian thriller or something. SUPER disappointed. I'm six episodes in and it's pretty good. I do like the kind of Hitchcockian reveal about Judy in the pilot so we begin to empathize with the antagonist as more layers are revealed. However, as Mattsby said, it's rather soapy but the leads are great.
