I don't think players like Rashford needed a few more minutes in order to take a good pk. Of course guys like Grealish should have been chosen instead Saka for example...
Very happy for Italy. I mean, I like England but Italy is the one I've always prefered (Brazil also...)

Totally agree.I don't blame the players at all. This is absolutely on Southgate.Imagine letting a 19 year old kid take the last penalty knowing how vilified he would be if he missed.Awful decision. Remember Saka was born in 2001 and the goalie in front of him, Donnarumma, was born in 1999,and he played his first game in Italian national team at 17. Anyway, Southgate said he tested penalty kickers during practice, and the 5 he chose were the best ones he had. That doesn’t mean anything. Donnarumma has been playing at the top level since he was 16. Even at 22 the guy’s already an experienced veteran and seems like he could be the love child of Buffon and Dino zoff. He has 250 caps for club and country at 22 years old. Saka just broke through this past season, he’s very inexperienced at the top level

He lost Italy cup at 17 and won super cup few months later. And it's way harder for a goalie than for other roles.

And for a nation with the worst track record of all the main nations on penalties, playing at home, without winning a trophy in 55 years, putting the 2 last penalties on teenagers is utterly stupid.
Mind you, here in Brazil there's still some controversy among some, specially ex-players, because in the 1986 World Cup against France, the last two penalties were assigned to two inexperienced players, Branco (who scored) and Júlio César (who missed), when there were more experienced players still available- and they were 22 and 23 respectively (in the 1994 final the last two were assigned to the captain Dunga and Bebeto, who didn't need to take it). And there was far less pressure on them than on Sterling and Saka.

José Mourinho declared someone (a 100% safe source) told him one of the experienced England players refused to kick the penalty. Southgate will never name him (or them...), but sometimes a young guy is all you have.

I certainly believe someone might have refused, but he still had on the pitch Stones, Sterling and Shaw (plus Pickford, although to be fair most goalkeepers don't train for that), plus he didn't need to replace Henderson. Plus, he could have put Saka and Sancho to take early penalties and leave the last to someone like Maguire.

Yeah, but all three of them refused it? Idk. But I doubt the coach would have picked an unexperienced guy if he had a better chance.

Throw ins with the feet is a very dumb idea. The game would be even more based on free kicks than it already is. Every team would be Stoke with Rory Delap.
Unlimited subs would make the teams lose completely their identity as they change player after player (think of those team in friendly matches), plus would favor richer teams (with better substitutes) even more.
5 minutes suspension would put too much weight in yellow cards. It could also have the side effect of making teams excessively cautions in marking, resulting in lots of players just looking at other players play.
The other two (which have to be together), I don't know. Would like to see a test.

Well, no such changes will take place according to FIFA.

Good job, city. Probably the only team that can actually afford Messi but you got impatient and bought grealish 😂

Meanwhile, it looks like Chelsea offered Inter 130 millions for Lukaku (and 15 millions per season for his salary).
