Night Shift, Nightmares & Dreamscapes and Everything's Eventual are must-read collections. Night shift is another great collection of his. Arguably his best one.

His best book is pretty easily It. I used to favor The Shining but it didn't hold up on a revisit.

It is by far his best. I've read it about ten times throughout the years; it used to be my teen tradition to read it every summer vacation and even now as an adult it still holds up wonderfully (except the ending, but that's true with 99% of King's work).
I also highly recommend Different Seasons, which is beautifully written.
