I meant this one bc the article says production has wrapped. So I guessed (hoped) the movie is ready. It certainly isn't done just because it finished wrapping. Post-production often takes more time than actual shooting. They have to edit, compose a score, do special effects I'm guessing, market, most likely test screen and plan a festival drop etc. I highly doubt this comes out before October next year. It has already been confirmed for December 2021, says it right there in Searchlight's tweet.

I know it takes much time. I thought there was a chance it had aldready been completed.

Not high hopes for this. Del Toro is a hit and miss, he's a wildly inconsistent filmmaker.

Trailer possibly? I’m guessing it’s for a new project, but maybe???

I doubt he would hype up a big announcement for a trailer. It's probably something else.

It might be about Pinocchio instead.

It might be about Pinocchio instead. I was thinking that too... Or he's announcing a new project, since both of these are in post-production (as far as I know).

At the Mountains of Madness isn't it? The tweet was about Trollhunters. Anticlimactic much? I kind of expected it after the Netflix summer schedule trailer yesterday.

For anyone who has read the all-time great book this not only makes sense but is an encouraging sign I think particularly how Cooper's character is described: “Nightmare Alley” started shooting out of order, and from the start, rewriting was going on all the time. “We shot the second half before the first half,” said Cooper. “We didn’t want to do it that way. Things happened to us, with sets and other actors’ availability and water, the snow and all that. I was the cause. I had moved to New York and said, ‘I can’t do it right now. Let me get settled.'”
“It was a blessing,” said del Toro. “I believe wholeheartedly life gives you what you need, not what you want. You have a window to look at everything. It was incredible. We got to see these characters, when [Cooper’s Stanton Carlisle] was full of himself and arrogant and certain and seeking. We were able to go back six months in between all this and were able to analyze and see not only that character but what we needed to rewrite to be able to go back to a set. If your pores are open, the movie finds you. Each movie tells you what it needs.”www.indiewire.com/2021/06/bradley-cooper-guillermo-del-toro-nightmare-alley-tribeca-1234644236/

Not a fan of both. I'm not really excited about this project.

Something tells me this will be nothing like the 1947 version.
