Hmm I read another link saying it may be a "reboot". Who knows at this point.

They are hesitating because Tron Legacy barely broke even. Tron 3 is a high risk project.

They are hesitating because Tron Legacy barely broke even. Tron 3 is a high risk project. I agree, although, the first Tron was an under-performer too. And that took them about 30 years later to get around a sequel due to its iconic popularity. I also agree that Disney seems to be too preoccupied with Marvel and Star Wars IPs at the moment, and live action remakes of their animated movies.

I thought this was canceled after Legacy underperformed?

Somewhere in the world, Mitch is now dusting off his rifle. He just gave Logan 2/5 on letterboxd so he is in a bad mood, I think

Weren't the sequels box office disappointments? Leto is tiresome and I can't see this attracting a big enough audience to be a hit.

See, I actually think this could work. Leto would make the perfect villain for the Tron world.

Maybe it was because Morbius was one of the last trailers I remember seeing in a theater in early March before theaters closed here, but I feel like Sony missed a chance at promoting the bat virus angle for a VOD release. Sure it was probably too soon and tasteless, but I never expected it to be a hit anyways. However, if marketing could make it seem like Jared Leto was behind unleashing something terrible from bats but not mention Covid-19 specifically, then I could see more people willing to go see something like that, or at least being on their radar. Before I remember seeing the trailer a few times, but at least for me it didn’t look like it had the fun campiness of Venom, and Leto as the star just did not appeal to me.
