"Guest hosts from the Jeopardy family" - guess there's a chance Brad might host after all, stephen

Caught up with recent eps. Alex did a little tap-dance the other night, wonderful moment. Tonight these f'n contestants need to go home and watch some movies. None of them knew who starred in Bullitt..... and two of them, including goofy-aughts-Gosling, missed the Final Jeopardy lay-up (Which actress/singer won the Oscar in '88).

Brayden seems like he could stick around a while. Wonder if he'll still be the champion after Trebek's final episode airs...

Brayden seems like he could stick around a while. Wonder if he'll still be the champion after Trebek's final episode airs... One of the smartest on in a while, easy to root for too. His face during (all those!) Daily Doubles is classic. (Can't believe none of them got the Final tonight! The clue was obviously Cyrano...!)

Definitely seems like a former quiz bowl kid... and him apologizing for getting all the DDs is pretty funny too. Yeah, I was also shocked that no one got the Final (the "Zorro" answer made me lol)

I wonder if Ken Jennings might take over since he's still pretty attached to the show... I'd personally want to see Brad Rutter. Ken's really good but Brad's got a natural ease in front of the camera I quite like, and besides, I think Ken's more synonymous with competing (along with James) to the point we'd want to see him again. Brad's got nothing more to prove. Everyone here probably has a life unlike me, but I’ve been following poor Bean Girl drama all day and who knew that Ken Jennings would choose Bean Girl’s dad as a hill to die on. It might not mean anything since I thought Gina Carano would be fired from The Mandalorian after she went full alt-right on social media, and now she might even get a spin-off if rumors are true, but it seems pretty risky to defend a guy whose made racist and anti-Semitic tweets and also who isn’t very popular right now for coming across like an asshole. Before that I didn’t really care, but to be that dumb right before any decision has been publicized makes me hope that someone else gets it now.

Man, Brayden bizarrely bombed today... was hoping we'd see the end of Trebek's run with a 9-day champion, but oh well.

I knew that none of the contestants would get today's Final and that at least a couple of them would guess Dunkirk or 1917. Now I need a gif of Trebek doing the Wonder Woman arm gesture.

He's missed already. Btw last night's ep contained his last movie shoutout.... The Man Who Would Be King story by Kipling was mentioned and I believe he said "great movie too." Also.... Anyone watch the new The Chase with Ken/James/Brad. I thought it was pretty horrible and overproduced. (The Beast is missed.)

That was such a lovely tribute they played to him at the end of tonight's episode! Jeopardy is still an important way I bond with my family whenever I'm home, and it really just won't be the same without him.

Man that montage of him saying "So long, everyone" really got me.

Jennings seems competent, but kind of stiff and affected. I know it's only been one episode, so he might just need to settle into the role, but I do hope they go with someone else as a permanent host.

It was so weird to hear all those clues in a non-Trebek voice. But I thought Jennings did an excellent job (and I'm not even a fan of the guy).

Honestly, they need to look at newscasters. That's what Trebek was, and I think that the best talent pool for this job is in that arena. Sports announcers would be good too (many of them have doubled as newscasters). Turn on the local news in L.A. and I'm sure there are a few candidates, let alone the rest of North America.

No one knowing who James Garner was the other night was rough... but none of the three being able to recognize Dave Chappelle tonight was unforgivable.
I feel like a lot of the clues have been easier than usual lately and the competitors have been kind of lame. This current dude isn't even that impressive, but he somehow continues to dominate.

I usually suck at Before & After categories, but totally nailed the entire movie-themed one today!
I guess there weren't any Lynch fans among today's contestants...

I haven't posted yet about Ken? I think he's acclimated quickly and really well as the host, especially his chemistry with the guests. It might feel odder and colder when they have Anderson Cooper or whoever as the next host.
Last ep I watched (was it last Thursday's?) one of the answers was Uncut Gems, ayyyy.

Yeah, he's doing pretty well. I think he comes off as slightly phony in his attempts at mingling, but I've always felt that way about him - when he made that Harold Lloyd joke on the fly in the Ultimate Tournament of Champions, I knew that it was a genuine moment from him, but it just seemed so off to me.
