I'm guessing most of you have IMDb accounts and rate movies regularly.
Here's my outlook this decade:
Year- Number of movies rated- Average rating
2010- 69- 7.10 2011- 82- 7.06 2012- 86- 7.16 2013- 131- 7.13 2014- 125- 6.93 2015- 89- 6.88 2016- 117- 7.00 2017- 119- 6.94 2018- 103- 6.87 2019- 11- 6.82
What does yours look like?

I don't bother with IMDb anymore and haven't kept anything up to date. Does Letterboxd have a similar option?

I used to rate regularly, but ever since the great exodus I have barely rated a thing. Apparently the last movie I rated was in March 2018.
year - rating (number of stuff rated)
2012 - 6.57 (102) 2013 - 6.65 (114) 2016 - 6.70 (71) 2014 - 6.75 (88) 2010 - 6.80 (105) 2015 - 6.85 (86) 2011 - 6.88 (110)

2010: 6.37 (43 titles) 2011: 6.84 (44 titles) 2012: 7.50 (36 titles) 2013: 7.59 (29 titles) 2014: 7.86 (36 titles) 2015: 8.43 (30 titles) 2016: 8.03 (34 titles) 2017: 8.56 (36 titles) 2018: 8.58 (31 titles)
IMDb data is kinda outdated though. I'll edit this post later with my Letterboxd data and decimal-included ratings.

keeping in mind that some of IMDB's release dates are wrong, so a lot of 2018 movies I watched are listed under 2017 (Thoroughbreds, A Prayer Before Dawn, The Rider, etc).
2018 - 6.99 (74) 2017 - 7.20 (84) 2016 - 7.01 (81) 2015 - 6.93 (70) 2014 - 6.72 (72) 2013 - 6.78 (87) 2012 - 7.03 (68) 2011 - 6.73 (75) 2010 - 6.30 (57)
despite what this data suggests, my favorite years have been 2014 and 2018, and 2017 ain't too shabby either. The stats definitely don't lie about 2010 though. Obviously it's my least-viewed year but most of what I have seen has been disappointing. Pretty awful year to be honest. 2012 isn't much better.

How can I see this? Can anyone help??? should be on the right of your profile page. There are two graphs called "ratings analysis" and "by year" and beneath them a tab to see more. I just found my data in the "top-rated years" section but I'm not sure if there's somewhere you can see a sequential breakdown by year. Like if 2010 wasn't in the top-rated section for me, I don't know where I would have found that data. It was right at the bottom of my graph.

I can't find this option on my letterboxd page as well (I'm a pro), but I'd be surprised if my numbers for 2014/2015 are that high.
Edit: Found it!
2019: 2.70 so far 2018: 3.64 2017: 3.63 2016: 3.57 2015: 3.46 2014: 3.49 2013: 3.43 2012: 3.53 2011: 3.42 2010: 3.54
Edit 2: This is a rating out of 5 stars, just to be clear!

2017 - 7,23 (31 films) 2018 - 6,65 (20) 2016 - 6,59 (61) 2011 - 6,54 (106) 2013 - 6,54 (90) 2015 - 6,50 (76) 2012 - 6,49 (88) 2010 - 6,39 (116) 2014 - 6,36 (90)
So not really huge differences, especially since the years 2016-2018 are expected to fall a bit due to lesser amount of films seen so far.
