Driver over Bale would be... a choice. I don't feel strongly about Driver as an actor, but the fact that all these major directors seem to love him is mystifying to me. Bale was interested is what I've gathered from sources but it was clashing with his schedule... I presume with The Church of Living Dangeoursly... Bale has NEVER been one to chase anything with much panache. That phase of his career he practically ended after The Prestige, which is the LAST role he actively pursued. Always keeps his earlier commitments instead of ditching them for later-in opportunities.

I’ve laughed at some of the way people have listed how impressive Driver’s ‘Director’ resume list is when they are including some of his work where he had very bit parts. But playing the lead in back to back films by Mann and Coppola is hella impressive.

Jason Schwartzman and Shia kind of cancel each other out here and this is neutral news.

Ugly, alarmist article, wtf Hollywood Reporter...... Sounds like he's adjusting the design dpt, so be it.... and a movie this size the budget rarely goes down. Let the man work!

When is the last time Coppola made something genuinely good? (Come at me)
This isn’t like Marty, where even if you were skeptical about The Irishman (and I was, I’ll admit), he’d been consistent enough to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I wouldn't expect it to be a Coppola flm without such a story tbh He swings for the fences and is also, you know, quite mad - so we'll see.....he's made great films out of chaos and made um, well filmed chaos out of actual chaos and missed the mark Tetro (2009) is a bordering on great film - though I don't like how it resolves as much......much of it is extraordinary .....I'd watch it right now, I'll never watch The Fabelmans again......movies are funny like that.....not saying that I disliked Fabelmans - I didn't at all, it's fine - but you have to let the actual dude who is a crazy legend be a legend like only he actually is.........with his own money ......or not, people can believe gossip.......or not.....it doesn't have much to do with us as an audience really.......we'll see the work when we see the work......
